Re: MaGL 3 results: now viewable at 7500rpm

The reason why the fun score is so high is because even though I didn't really have much fun in it, I still had more fun than something like King of GETs or Lespna01. i'm not really following this logic. Did you really only give this level the score you gave it because you gave those other two leve...

Re: MaGL 3 results: question 6: what is willhart's favorite fruit?

th thing about the level that i really liked was that it was hard but in a way where you can get used to it and watch yourself (in this case raocow) slowly getting better at it. the bg in the first section was a little confusing to follow but other than that

Re: MaGL 3 results: a magl of ice and fire

if the music breaks at any point in the cave part, going to other sublevels or dying crashes the whole game. so it was a time trial, eh? interesting... whoa, having the goal sphere right next to the spawn is a really neat idea! I wish raocow saw that (if he did i missed that part  ) overall i...

Re: MaGL 3 results: a magl of ice and fire

looking back i wish i made my level mind numbingly hard. i could get a whole raocow video to myself and i could get sick irony points with the title screen. oh well there's always magl4 Could've also used the multiple checkpoints patch and made an insanely long level. and added math equations :P :l...

Re: MaGL 3 results: a magl of ice and fire

VIDEO GAMES wasn't centered smh e: i dont know about you guys, but i can never suspend my belief enough to get behind lava that ascends and descends and just falls straight down like that. Obviously for a gameplay element it's pretty boring only limiting yourself to descending and keeping flat, but...

Re: MaGL 3 results: playing (9) on the 9th

you're right, a game or level has the potential to dramatically shift its visual tone without losing its core focus. I knew I should've revised that part of my argument and i just didn't. (funnily enough, my original argument was backed up by an example where i tried to discredit a blunt shift in vi...

Re: MaGL 3 results: playing (9) on the 9th

I have no idea how pretty precise flying sections that have no other gimmick to them is in any way a natural progression or in the same thematic space as indirectly triggering vine blocks. .5)if you really "have no idea" then I think you're just being petty. or looking to argue. 1) the fl...

Re: MaGL 3 results: playing (9) on the 9th

i disagree with the idea that the second section felt tacked on. I think it was a very natural progression of the first half (the same thematic design choices, but more difficult and on a much larger scale). I appreciate that the first half felt so claustrophobic while the second half had a lot more...

Re: MaGL 3 results: tapping away at your sanity

is that not what happens every time you die in video games? there are two different ways to structure a level, in segments and as a whole experience (idk how else to explain it, but just a generic platforming level). In a segmented level, when you force the player to start every segment over becaus...

Re: MaGL 3 results: tapping away at your sanity

that's raocow thats somebody playing your level for the first time. i've already explained why dying is not at all preferable to just restarting within the level itself. Having to kill yourself and starting the entire level over again is not a justifiable punishment for something not going the play...

Re: MaGL 3 results: tapping away at your sanity

You guys really think that having to go through a door to start over instead of jumping in a pit would change shit? It's a lot more annoying having to kill yourself then it is to just reset the puzzle. With a reset door, you mess up, think about what you did wrong, and then go through the door and ...

Re: MaGL 3 results: feline world

reset doors are severely over rated the funny thing is that no, they're not. e: god, that level was super neat too. i loved the centralized focus on one specific gimmick that not many people would think to use.
