Well your core thesis seems to be that you're leaving because people want you to go... can you name a single user who wants you to go though? 'cuz i can't. (MrDeePay though...) I am not going to publicly escalate drama any further. What you're asking me to do is essentially the forum equivalent of ...

Re: SPOILER ALERT: AZCT Plot
I don't think the vous comparison is a fair one. We're talking about a word that changed meanings, then went extinct except in parts of Britain where time flows bizarrely in linguistics and throws up weird shit like never saying the, and then Hollywood reapropriated to mean its original meaning agai...

Why would you leave episode 2!? I explicitly said as soon as raocow finished his episode 1 LP that I wouldn't be participating in episode 2. That's old news. You still made levels for it! Edit: "Don't Panic, Just Chill" and "Non-Stop Rocking" got both good reviews from Isrieri. ...

Re: -
Let me be quite clear about two things. 1. I did not make this decision on Ditocoaf's post alone: it is obvious that Ditocoaf was the only one prepared to say what most are thinking, even if he is equivocating it now. The results of "Most Likely to Complain" which has and always will be a ...

It'd be fine in isolation but in context by the time the player reaches the guy they've been hearing archaic words in their proper use for about half a game. The context is going to be there. Luckily I've remembered that yeh exists as phonetically written slang for you in the same way that yer exist...

Re: SPOILER ALERT: AZCT Plot
I would imagine that for the conversation for how to get from Island 1 to Island 2, it would go with that the guy jokes about that you build a raft to get there, but then seriously states that a ship would be best idea and the complexities of how to operate one, as well as the weather being not opt...

Re: AZCT: A Zelda Classic Thing - Basic Planning Thread
I'm back. I pledged ages back to do what I could to get this finished so I'll stick around for that and do the best I can. Regarding the permanent/temporary secret thing, are you referring to things like switch puzzles having to be redone each time? Personally I don't mind that being the case. Sure,...

Removing the thread by editing out the OP is a shitty way to go. I normally only see really immature members doing that.. Oh well, I can't fault him for deciding to quit the forum, since I did that once. raocow even mentioned it in one of those a2mt progress videos, it was funny. I would have delet...

Man I am sick of your shit, Shemp. It's like every time you post in a thread with the slightest hint of disagreement, you quickly turn it into the most frustrating kind of conversation. You're so often so absurdly confident, and there's no use in trying to reason with you because you interpret ever...

Re: Post-decision discussion on stuff that won't change as a result of discussion here, discussion
I have not yet sent the detailed instructions for judging to the judges. However, when I do, I will aim to make sure they know to grade things on sort of an academic A/B/C/D/F standard. A 9/10 means A, a 10/10 means A+, an 8/10 means B, etc. If someone does everything super average, they get a 7/10...

Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
However, because people were a little mixed on their judgements last time around (though this didn't matter because, as long as the judges were each internally consistent, the placement remains identical no matter the scale used. The end scores might change, but, mathematically, the relative placem...

Re: Regarding SMBX Link
Link is a pain to build compatability for, since what's hard for him can be very easy for the others and vice versa. See spike pits for example. However, a level built specifically for Link can be very fun. My view, which seems to be a pretty common one, is that a level should either forbid Link or ...

Re: ASMT v2.0, again (geez, you bunch of procrastinators!)
Can't you like, use one of those SNES flash carts where you can upload a ROM to the flash cart and the physical SNES can play ASMT on it instead of asking everyone else to do it for you? Making SNES cartridges is expensive too, so it's cheaper just to use a flash cart for your own personal benifit....

Re: a serious question for y'all
We had (until extremely recently) a monopoly in Aus on who controlled the hardware for the internet - cables and all that - with the connections being serviced by competitive private companies. We're now replacing it with another monopoly. The upshot is that the average age of a cable in the network...

Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
Maybe it would help this time around if the rubric was was laid out in a standard academic form, which a description for each category, and each point. That way everyone knows beforehand the difference between say an 8 or a 9 in music. Would you be able to include this? There's a lot of different i...

Re: Post-decision discussion on stuff that won't change as a result of discussion here, discussion
You're thinking in binary. It's not a question of "Do I put in the time to pander to the judges or do I not enter at all" it's "given that I am putting in a certain amount of time, what is the most productive use of it? Would I rather make what I want to make or would I rather have a ...

I can summarise my personal timeline of the contest as follows: 1. MAGLX2 is a thing that will occur in the future 2. I go on break and don't check the internet because I have other things in my life, as I sincerely hope everyone does over Christmas/New Year 3. I return from break to find MAGLX2 pl...

Re: Last movie you watched?
A TV station here has been showing cult 80s movies so I've been getting the chance to see a bunch of movies I really should have seen already (and Evil Dead 2 again which is always worth a watch). My opinions (very briefly) are: Scanners: Pretty good. Michael Ironside is always good enough to carry ...

And people are free to do that but that doesn't change the fact that those people are completely and utterly missing the point of the contest. Are you so sure that's still the point? The MAGLs were talkhaus contests but they're clearly not anymore what with them being advertised everywhere. And wit...

Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
Isn't the goal of the contest to create what YOU think would be a good level, not pander to the judges' specific tastes? if you're going to have prizes and junk. The MaGL contests are about making good levels not pandering to individual judges. Doing that kinda completely misses the point of the en...
