He's always a highlight of my day, never fails to make me laugh. I wish I'd kept up with his videos better over the last 8 years or so. On the other hand, at least there's a lot to binge on.

Re: JUMP mean(U(0,1)) - Spring cleaning? Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Which boss is that? Even on first playthrough I don't remember any particular boss being an outlier in difficulty other than the final boss and one of the post-game bosses Sorry this is like, literally one of my favorite games so maybe I'm biased but even still Reasonably sure the boss was called O...

Re: All The S@nics - 1 (8-Bit) - Bridging The Generation Gap

I recall watching a speedrun of this game once, or a longplay.. can't remember. Anyways, point is I was always surprised by how different the 8-Bit Sonics were to the Genesis versions. I hadn't even known they existed on the Master System until years later, only heard of the Game Gear ones. So outsi...

Re: Where did you get your name/avatar/sig from?

Since I'm somewhat new here - at least as an actual poster - I figured maybe I should post a response in here. Name! Hiroshi Mishima is my name, in a way. As a child I often had unusual dreams, and over the years several names came out of them. First came "Hiroshi" when I was like.. I can'...

Re: JUMP mean(U(0,1)) - Spring cleaning? Wonderful. Just wonderful.

"It looks too hard" is a perfectly valid opinion, considering the sorta dreck people spew when they think something is "too easy" and then get a chorus of applause. The best rule of thumb when designing anything is if it's hard enough to challenge the person making it.. tone it d...

Re: Star Fox (SNES) - I can't pretend a stranger is a long-awaited friend

I was glad that today's episode went far more smoothly, even if the bunny got cooked a little bit. The Captain grew a new wing, had a scary dream, and then blew up a popcorn maker. A nice, somewhat easier sort of breather level before chaos resumes upon touching Venom.

Re: Celeste - Everest

Oh trust me, if I do go and have a look Assist Mode will probably get used. That's how I dealt with most of B and all of C. Whatever I may feel about the difficulty, it amazes me to no end that the developer made Assist Mode as wonderful as they did. Normally you see all kinds of restrictions applie...

Re: JUMP logₑ(√(-1))/((√(-1))*π) - Half a jump is still a jump

I'm glad we're seeing comments on both side of the river here, even seeing things I agree with on both. Koba definitely makes some good points, though, as does LunarRainbow. Considering the rest of the ROMhack, the last two levels definitely came off as sharp increase in difficulty. Don't feel bad, ...

Re: Star Fox (SNES) - The urge to build these fine things seemed not to be so strong

In my Star Fox 64 heyday, I could beat every single level except the blasted escape sequence in Hard Route without much issue. But this level, no, this level was just a nightmare. Heck, my ex watched this video and was all "oh, yeah, this is why I never went back to Star Fox." Even TVTrope...

Re: Celeste - Everest

Considering how little I cared for the B and C sides when I actually played the game, the idea that any new content is going to fall into that level of difficulty is pretty disheartening. Sorta like "screw the players who wanted more story or approachable content, this is for TASers and pros on...

The link raekuul posted works fine for me, but nothing else loads around it. So I can't see raocow's channel info or the comments or anything. I figured it's just momentarily unlisted or something.

Re: Star Fox (SNES) - The urge to build these fine things seemed not to be so strong

As neat looking as the level is, it's just beyond unfair. Strapping the player into cockpit view by default like that feels so incredibly cheap, I don't know why it's not just a damned Option in the menu, instead. Kinda like today's JUMP ½ video, it just goes on forever. Unlike that, though, you're ...

Re: JUMP logₑ(√(-1))/((√(-1))*π) - Half a jump is still a jump

I'm very conflicted on Bowser's Castle . On one hand, it's technically and visually very impressive. Multiple branching paths, a variety of gameplay gimmicks, a retry system, and so forth. On the other, though, it's also extremely long and can get really tedious after a while. Having to replay sever...

Re: All The S@nics - 1 - Dusting Doilies Since 1991

Despite how smooth that mobile version looked, the level itself seemed really frustrating. Then again, I sorta find all the special stages to be frustrating in Sonic games. I think of the original trilogy, I enjoyed the Blue Spheres the most, but even then those stages got crazy hard as you went on.

I actually did see a couple people seemingly talking down to lower skilled players at certain points this year, and it's what put off my finally making an account for a while longer. Re: Star Fox (SNES) - When the dragons grow too mighty

It's kinda funny that I have more memories of Route 3 than I do Route 2, cause I definitely remember this level. I think I've only seen the "good" ending of Sonic 1 like.. twice? Once when I was emulating it and getting the emeralds myself, and once when I watched a speedrun, but either way this was over 9 years ago so I can't even remember it anymore. I guess I know what I'm doing in a few minutes. ...

Re: Star Fox (SNES) - You feel there's something calling you, you're wanting to return

Captain rao's guilt over the annihilation of Venom's strip malls kept him awake at night, so he overslept the day of the final Cornerian assault. It led to a distressful dream where he flew really badly and Falco was a jerk, but since Falco's always a jerk, he thought it was real. Until he died. Tha...

Wasn't Sonic originally brown spined before running on Dr. Robotnik's treadmill thing according to original Sonic lore, anyhow? A cola spill made Robotnik evil, originally. Favourite will always be Final Fantasy VI, it holds a special place in my heart. It wasn't the first one I played, that'd be the NES original, but it's one I have strong memories of a firm attachment to. Re: Star Fox (SNES) - The Necromancer keeps watch with his magic prism eyes.

It has to do with the movement you're perceiving that your body isn't registering, or something to that effect. I get motion sickness if I read too much in cars, for instance, so I can understand how someone dealing with view-bobbing or a lot of camera movement could get hit by it. I don't often get...
