Not the hardest thing in the world, but if they told you it was super easy, then you got diddled buddy.raocow wrote:I'm not sure if peeps who where telling me the boss is super easy were trying to dupe me, or if I was unlucky, or what, but, uhm. Uhm.

Re: Call of Cthulhu - A casual vacation in R'lyeh
There's no checkpoint system, so if you die you have to start from the beginning. That is why savestates were encouraged.
Though, it is a nice little challenge to try to beat this in one shot without them.

Re: Call of Cthulhu - A casual vacation in R'lyeh
This is one of my favorite romhacks, though it's unfortunate that the creator didn't implement a checkpoint system since it will distance away some people.

[117] Worn out Bridge
Another athletic level but with old wooden blocks.
Just 1 exit. I was thinking it should have no midpoint but I wasn't sure and put one anyway.

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"
Out of curiosity, do you know if JUMP works on original hardware/on higan-accuracy? People have played JUMP on flashcarts, so it does work. However, some sd2snes users have encountered what raekuul mentioned. For all Higan executables (and BizHawk, which runs BSNES for its SNES core) : No saveram/p...

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"
just watched today's video. that door is FUCKED. lolyoshi could have just put it at the very right next to the wall. You know, that could have been a great decision, if I had put up that updated version (with the grinder on door) for the public to comment on. EDIT: https://i.gyazo.com/2c3ae8d05182d...

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"
If I had one complaint about this boss it'd just be that damaging it doesn't have any sound effect or graphical effect. The only way to tell you're damaging it is to watch its healthbar which isn't something you should really be doing if you want to survive. There is a slight sound effect when you ...

Man I wish you guys didn't start comparing things to SMBX, even if the talkhaus has basically evolved to be nearly an SMBX forum.

Have you caught on that you can see what's under you (blind jumps) by looking at the top of the screen?

To mods, it would be cool to edit the OP for me since I'm going to be away until sunday (the lp will likely end before I get back), so yeah.

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"
Neither option sounded particularly appealing, so m/m stood up and coded the entirety of the custom fight in like three or four days . Think about the guy's level design what you want, but you have to admit that that's pretty impressive! AFAIK, the bowser fight were only slight levelASM changes. So...

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"
Never in a million years would I have expected to see someone do room 4 as their preferred choice... It's like the difficulty of the Turbo Tunnel and Volkmire's Inferno from Battletoads combined into this monstrosity. I was expecting serious rage from that room. Room 4 isn't actually that bad. If y...

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"
I do understand, but trivialize was not really the right word. What I mean is that I designed this without yoshi in mind (it was originally not for JUMP), so it was filtered for that.Ometeotl wrote:That's the player's problem, though, not the creator's.lolyoshi wrote:Yoshis trivialize most of the obstacles in this level

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"
There have been a lot of levels in this hack that have banned Dr. Horse even when there's no specific reason to do so, and I wish they wouldn't. Yoshis trivialize most of the obstacles in this level (as well as being nearly invincible to fuzzies) and simply that some of the structures wouldn't flow...

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"
It is true that if the difficulty is constantly going at the same rate, levels would become eventually very tiring to play. I don't know why you guys think it's preferable, since it mostly works on paper but in execution, it will likely not work at intended (it's also just.. difficult to keep a cons...
