Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
Also, this appears to happen with the Mushrooms/Beets too. EDIT: Looks like it's all SMB3 items except the stopwatch and coins, and most enemies that do this. interesting. In that case, I think we'd better leave well alone. If I go altering the one, I'll have to go altering the whole lot and who kn...

Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
It just seems odd, you know? Whilst you were comparing them, I did my own comparison. The bottom of the SMB3 and SMW fireflower match in the original. They don't with our versions. The SMB is higher by a few pixels, such that a few of the SMB pixels get cut off when I put it in a 32 pixel high frame...

Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
First off, I would check to see if it's the SMB3 one that's too low, or the SMB/SMW ones that are too high. Also, why not make the SMB3 one different? I guess the same should be done for the 1ups as well then. EDIT: If anyone is up for changing any of the graphics currently in the devkit, go right ...

Didn't realise somebody would post so soon, so I edited my post. What do you think? I think the fire flowers need a bit of tweaking.

Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
Posting the Shark/Fish Ripper replacement here incase someone wants to add some shading/recolour it. Also, I'm think that instead of having the same Beet graphic for all the different mushrooms, we have slightly different graphics for each one, like we do for the Fire Flower and Ice Flower. thought...

Re: A2MBXT - Sounds & Music
After much thought, I've decided it might be a good idea to have some tracks in one of my levels replaced. For my level, Shroom Caves I'm currently using: Electric Dolphin Funk for the main level. Fight or Fight for the boss fight at the end of the level. They're pretty good, but now that I know the...

Sometimes I wonder why raocow doesn't spin jump more. Some of those instances seem as if they'd be no trouble if only raocow had spin jumped.

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread
I always thought the a[x]thing series to embrace the chaotic nature of colaboration, in contrast to, say, smwcentral's 'it must feel like a real game' ethos. As far as I'm concerned, the stranger and uncontinuitious it is, the better. Probably best not to change things, anyway. I'm really looking f...

Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
Ah, I figured it out. For some strange reason, the devkit version of npc-17 is 62 pixels high. The original SMBX npc-17 is 52 pixels high. As there isn't any custom npc text file for 17, perhaps that was causing the problem. If this doesn't do the trick, then I'm frankly stumped. And yes, as I suspe...

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread
You know, I've been looking at it more and more and I can't help but wonder whether it was a good idea to let people decide what type of exit they could use. Shouldn't we have dictated a normal exit type and a secret exit type to at least try and give the game some semblance of being one product? Ju...

I just wanted to re-post my Episode 2 levels... or episode 3 levels, whichever they end up in. Re: ASMBXT - Graphics
Whilst doubling the size of the Bullet Bill replacements for a level I was working on, I noticed that the right-facing bullet was higher up than the left-facing version. I've altered the bullets so they're now level with each other. I think you accidentally got rid of the outline around them, as th...

I'd like to point out that the current block-511, a miniature buzzsaw, doesn't make much sense. it looks as if it should hurt you if you touch its side, but it doesn't. Perhaps we should make the Jelectro the buzzsaw?

I'd better upload my candidate for the Final Boss of Episode. We did agree that the final boss for Episode 2 would be *that person*, right?

Pavlov Gold/Yellow Hurts by ZtarWuff A great level with a good concept that is utilized well. The yellow platforms on rails made for a fun challenge, especially at the spot right before the midpoint. If you're looking for a challenge to put more of throughout the level, yellow platform obstacle cou...

Level Name: Pavlov Gold https://www.dropbox.com/s/9bef92afmiulosy/PavlovGold.rar This is my first ever level. EVER. Re: Level acceptance guidelines
I've got some problems with file size plus spoilers. I'm going to try to make an AVI cutscene play at a certain point in the level I'm working on, Mainly as an experiment/proof of concept/thing. Movie files are large however and the file size is WAY out of hand (180mgb). So what now? I should note ...
