yeah the ice/sky map is ugly after unlocking everything. I totally did that for replay value, yep :)

my dev commentary for cold trees is that jump 1/2 needed a forest level with a secret exit but i could only have 1 level slot and no sublevels

BTW my levels in this hack are more of janky vanilla showcases than anything particularly extraordinary, but I like them.

ye it's my level. If I remember correctly I was inspired by Kerkec's entry in magl3 which is a fun hectic vertical platformer. Thus I made a level only out of vertical sections. Meanwhile the theming was inspired by vldc9's Hotel level by Frost . And finally the room raocow missed is really just a 1...

IIRC the top 10 is pretty good.

As for why Frozen Fortress is near the bottom, I remember it being quite frustrating for the judges with how cramped and precise it ended up being for them.

right i made an entry
i mostly utilized the wavy boos and sleepy goombas cause the balloon and broken stretchy boo were difficult to use creatively. could've used the little cloud enemy that went back and forth but eh

I actually had more issues relating to conveyance and difficult mechanics than the level's massive length, particularly in the gravity and snake sections. It's one of those weird situations where you really appreciate all the creativity and aesthetics but you don't feel as impressed as you should be...

The problem with Exhausted Mario is that it focuses more on having the exact correct inputs than on making few unnecessary inputs. My friend showed me this game a few weeks ago, and it was SO good. Awesome that raocow is lping it.
Fun fact: I died on the bridge breaking scene since I didn't jump far enough to trigger the cutscene, which kind of killed the introduction to the most important ability but was still hilarious.
