Might as well wait, I'm already doing it.
Horikawa and SAJewers should present both of their Hub updates so that the forum can judge which one is better. It'd be totally meta.

Re: Each Judge Possesses an Opinion of their Own

The Ghostly Lake had some really great flavor and atmosphere, though I agree with Horikawa in that it didn't do a whole lot with it. Still a nice, pleasant looking level though. I still don't quite get what the solution to the puzzle was in the second level, since it looks like raocow had Blue-Green...

Re: Each Judge Possesses an Opinion of their Own

Really dig the aesthetics of the World 5 hub, especially that background. But it seems like kind of a pain to traverse. Maybe having one or two long elevators is the wrong approach. It might work better if every floor had its own dedicated elevator. Regarding the levels, the desert level looked fun ...

Re: MaGL X - A Quest for all Stars!

We're reaching a point where I'd expect to see my level at any time. I'm glad to make it into post-World 4, at least, so we'll see how much longer it takes. All the levels today were really neat in their own way, I especially liked the tileset in the first one and it did some neat moving layers in t...

Re: MaGL X - A Quest for all Stars!

I approve of any level that reduces Youtube user Sora to a gibbering, raging moron. Oh man, that guy. I remember how he flipped out at the end of raocow's STTB2 LP because I dared to sprite Kirby to look like Rainbow Dash. It was a level where you raced to the end of the rainbow road, in a game whe...

Re: MaGL X - A Careful Adventure!

So next video we'll officially be half-way there? Neato! I really dug the second level in today's video, it was weird and frantic and pretty well crafted. Though I think the boss fight at the end was a bit unnecessary, the stage could have just ended at the boss door and it wouldn't have lost anythi...

Re: MaGL X - A Careful Adventure!

The wall-tank thing was just using some of the SMB3 tank NPCs in a weird way.

Neat levels this time around, though I gotta agree with Horikawa, a bit too overkill on the Poison Mushrooms in the second stage.

Re: Wait and Run, We'll MaGL X - It's always been our Dream!

One of the people who uploaded the entire SM3DW soundtrack on Youtube has tens of thousands of views on plenty of the songs and they've yet to be taken down. I doubt raocow has anything to be worried about! As I understand it, being taken down is not the fear, but revenue. I don't know whether or n...

Re: Wait and Run, We'll MaGL X - It's always been our Dream!

I'm curious if raocow's video is going to get hit with a copyright claim or whatever due to having SM3DW music in it. It was a nice track, though, and fit the level well.

I totally dug the Waluigi stage, though the background got a bit hard to look at, I think it stood out a bit too much.

Re: Drama on - the time is right! There's no Better Stage!

I might've added a few more seconds to give the player some leeway. Also I think the section with the Boos and Thwomps was really unnecessary. The challenge seems to be based entirely around completing the speedrun, and that's best done small, so adding another room between the end of the speedrun a...

Re: Drama on - the time is right! There's no Better Stage!

And second part. Ok first off, I'm not sure how I feel about RPGFan4 basically getting to submit two levels to the contest. Sure he must've meant them to be just one level and used the second level to get around event limitations and such, but for all intents and purposes he got to submit two level...

Re: Every MaGL Along the Way, with Talkhaus we will Face!

My image editor of choice is Paint Shop Pro (5). Old, yes, and probably not the *best* out there, but I've been working with it for like, 13 years, so I'm pretty proficient with it at this point. Oh wow, I thought I was the only one on the internet who held onto that program. I fire that up wheneve...

Re: Every MaGL Along the Way, with Talkhaus we will Face!

I'm pretty sure using a midpoint in an auto-scrolling section in SMBX is basically impossible, and since the editor only allows autoscrolling in the first section and nowhere else you really can't add a pipe to take you out of the auto-scrolling section to use a midpoint and then another to go back ...

Re: You Teach me and I'll Mostly Ignore You - MAGL X

I dunno, as soon as I saw that climbing section with a TON of enemies flying to the left, I thought that could have contributed to the lag as well? And it's weird that when raocow proceeded to the next section, the lag wasn't fixed. That last bit points to it being the layers more than anything els...

Re: You Teach me and I'll Mostly Ignore You - MAGL X

The video shows what both causes of lag within the engine. The lag in "Lava Water Star" is due to a large amount of blocks in different layers constantly moving or looping. It's a good level, but the lag can make the level unbeatable, and sometimes unplayable. I remember that my town in A...

Re: MaGL X - You Know it's Our Destiny!

Super neat stuff this time around. Sep's level was just plain charming and clever, even if it wasn't much of a level-level. Maiku's little easter egg was touching, though I wonder how much more of the level was missed by taking that route. And I really loved the visuals inside of Quman's stage, the ...

Re: MaGL X - You Know it's Our Destiny!

Wow, more distractingly out of place Persona 4 music. That game has one of my favorite soundtracks, and I'll Face Myself is probably one of my favorite boss themes ever, but it really doesn't work as BGM for a Mario stage. Neat stage name interpretation though.

Re: To Teach MaGL X to Understand Appropriate Music!!!

Oh hey there random Persona 4 music, you were very relevant. I dunno, I love Persona 4 but I don't think those music choices in the non-main areas in Lavahouse were terribly appropriate when all they did was add on several megs to the already large filesize to the whole thing. Unless those very same...

Re: I will MaGL Across the Land. X'ing Far and Wide

I still don't understand why Yoshi flying has a shelf life in this engine While I can't begin to guess Redigit's thought process as he made SMBX, my theory is that it's a response to the fact that Yoshi doesn't automatically start swallowing shells (and other items) in SMBX, which would necessitate...

Re: Let's Talk About MaGL X Baby, Let's Talk about Controver

Wow, that sure was projectile-spam: the level. I'm not into the Touhous like a lot of people so I'm not sure what raocow was talking about with the whole 'spellcard' thing, I kinda know what a danmaku is though, so I think I got the basics. Also, sheesh, I've been using SMBX for a few years now and ...

Re: Let's Talk About MaGL X Baby, Let's Talk about You and M

The HUB looks pretty neat, but I agree with raocow, the swimming-ness feels kinda weird somehow. Plus if the entire HUB is all swimming all the time it will just slow the player down as he moves between doors within close proximity of each other, due to swimming's slow acceleration, of course, maybe...
