Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - And So It Goes

Saying it here as well that you can save after every fortress stage. It's pretty forgiving in that regard at the very least. Those big beetle dudes were the cause of my first game over (or at least one of them) with an assist to Rush Jet going awry. Still remember that. Fun enough stage though, and ...

Re: GOTTA GO FAST! The Speedy Talkcordhaus Sonic VGM Quiz!

All right. Got my initial round of guesses in. Going to try to place a few more in my head before the deadline, but we're off to a decent enough start.

Re: Sonic Colo(u)rs (Wii) - Apple Bottom Jeans - Randy Newman (1996)

The DS version also happens to be the last good-ish Sonic game Dimps made. Of course, this is not a fact but an opinion, but that is a fact that it's my opinion, so there. If I remember it right, you usually get a couple of normal-sized acts mixed in with the bite-sized ones that are more meant for ...

Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - Get It Right the First Time

That bubble letting you travel on water makes it easier to get to both the secret passage in Ghost Woman's stage if playing as Mega with no Rush, and I think there was a tank in the water in Dune Woman's level. Niche, but useful. Fun stage, and using those jellyfish the whole way across that potenti...

Re: What games are you playing?

Checked out Dokapon Kingdom: Connect from a library of all places and sped through it over a few days. It's still a 1v1 me, bro RPG, but at least there's more going on with the whole board game aspect. Whether that's a good thing or not is a mystery. Also noticed that loading saves didn't matter. Yo...

Don't worry so much about the goal of the Simulator right now. It'll become clear later on.

Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - Storm Front

"Look... I don't like fighting Sniper Joe. I think he's annoying." - raocow See, this cow knows what he's talking about. Thank you. A tricky fight after a relatively peaceful-ish level. I mean, instant death still over the place with pits, but Roll's double jump deal makes it less of a fa...

Re: Sonic Colo(u)rs (Wii) - Apple Bottom Jeans

Oh hey. It's the Sonic game I was waiting for after years and years of having to rely on Dimps' stuff (although most of Unleashed's daytime stuff was pretty fun). It's more basic, but yeah, this was a good direction for the series and has one of the few gimmicks that didn't destroy the core gameplay...

Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - Running on Ice

I'm pretty sure every trip on those claws was meant to be safe passage across other than the ones that lead directly into spikes, but you jumped off the first one early on your own, and it threw you off for a good few minutes there. And then you go and get the letter and get the boss done without a ...

Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - We Didn't Start the Fire

Not much to say about this one other than the eruption bit is a bit unforgiving when trying to go for the letter plate. Somehow, I think you know that.

Re: What games are you playing?

Got all nervous before recording... but still wound up beating that final level on my expert mode run first try in Super Mario Maker . With that, since Super Expert was added as DLC, I think I can officially call this game "beaten". Stat padding! Was actually pretty fun, and I wonder how t...

Re: What games are you playing?

Didn't record but played more of my expert mode run in Super Mario Maker a bit ago. 64 lives lost through the first seven stages, only another 11 over the next eight. Of course the good playing comes out when the recording isn't going. Well, either I choke the finale when I do get back to recording ...

Re: Mega Man: Rock N Roll - Through the Long Night

Watching this from someone else's perspective, this game also has a thing for instant kills that I wasn't paying much attention to when playing. That was one of my biggest gripes about another fan game that I also enjoyed but thought was a bit too much. Wonder if that will be the same for others her...

Re: What games are you playing?

Felt like clearing up a bit from the digital game pile and took down Panzer Dragoon: Remake tonight. It's one of those games that was probably really impressive in the mid-90s with the whole 360-degree rail shooter deal, but it's just a quick one hour playthrough here without any bells or whistles. ...

Re: What games are you playing?

F-Zero 99 had yet another update. Amazing how they've kept this going longer than SMB35 and actually added a ton of stuff to it. Now we're getting mirror tracks and cups that also feature new obstacles like bouncy walls or just speed booster pellets scattered along the ground. I am very impressed w...

Re: What games are you playing?

Super Mario Maker here. Still haven't tried the expert mode run yet, but I was doing a good chunk of the sample levels they give you. 24 more down today. 28 more to go. Well, I guess it's really 36 with the sample levels, but we'll see if I bother with it or not since that involves making stages.

Re: What games are you playing?

Berserk Boy was beaten today. Pretty fun game, but it's also one I'll probably barely remember a month from now if that makes any sense other than the character constantly screaming "Lightning Justice!" whenever he does a dash/attack combo with the lightning power. Wind was fun to move ar...

Re: What games are you playing?

Making real good progress on Berserk Boy the past couple of days. Have all the suit changes that I know about, so it's just a straight run through the final few stages and then potential backtracking for collection. This is kind of the way I'd like a larger Mega Man game to be where you have multipl...

Re: What games are you playing?

Yeah, Mario Maker's a fun game, but I'm more for playing official levels than fan stuff, never mind the not wanting to design them in the first place part. Anyway, also started up Berserk Boy finally. It's like Mega Man ZX meets a standard indie platformer in terms of design? Can't say I'm against t...

Re: What games are you playing?

Super Mario Maker. Made two vids' worth of material right out of the gate. Man, the Gamepad battery life sure doesn't last long anymore. Ha. Anyway, working on doing each difficulty level in the 100 Mario Challenge before the servers close up shop in a few weeks.
