Re: MAFAB 3 - Friendship Always Best

One interesting alternate approach would be deliberately trying to make attacks from bosses that weren't actually hostile to you into helpful ones, as happened with Mother Brain's lobster rings. I guess I'm not sure how to classify Shadow in that regard, but under this idea the Hothead and Mushashi ...

Re: MAFAB 3 - Final Apocalyptic Bomb & Flesh And Bone

From the judge commentary, I'm guessing Darkonius didn't either. Among other things, it looks like the up-slash makes it possible to deprioritize the math attack, since it doesn't trigger either answer.

Re: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GRID!

Not that it matters at this point, but I think your problem on the Mars minigame was that you weren't really paying attention to the center of the crosshair. You literally have a pointer that indicates what you're going to hit, at least before the speed picks up it makes sense to use that to make su...

Re: MAFAB 3 - François Armel Benedict & Finely Adjustable Bot

I feel like it would have been more intuitive to call the heat gauge the "rage meter" or something along those lines. In general, making a machine overheat seems like something you'd want to do if you were trying to destroy it, not something you'd want to avoid.

Re: MAFAB 3 - First Amore, Beautiful & Factory's Amplified Budget

I wasn't sure how I was going to do, since I pretty much just threw my entry together for fun. Scoring right around the middle feels fine given that. Mostly, seeing Aqua Ring and Aqua Step together inspired me to do a sequence of water-themed mini-rooms ("steps") based on various types of ...

Re: Blast Corps - Destroy the world and everything inside!

Weird decision not to go for the full set of planets. I guess they didn't have any more ideas for levels with the space physics? Would probably have been fun to use the robots in space, though.

Are you telling me that ghosts have actually been bulldozers this whole time?

What is this, "complete"? Have you no respect for the sanctity of your own arbitrary naming scheme? You had a perfectly good gimmick going, and now you have utterly destroyed it with a single moment of carelessness!

...wait a minute.

Re: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GRID!

The framing device implies that Wario got trapped in the boombox and he's not actually supposed to be there.

But evidently, cars shaped like potatoes and sharks are supposed to be in there. I have no idea how that thing works.

Re: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GRID!

Fun fact: Heavy objects do not actually fall faster than lighter objects in general. There is a specific gravitational constant which determines the acceleration of a falling object, which has nothing to do with the mass or weight of the object - on Earth, this is about 9.8 meters per second per sec...

Re: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - GRID!

One thing you didn't catch in the Dodge game is that Level 1 doesn't play any tricks. At the least it doesn't do the "stop suddenly, then move again" trick, I'm not 100% sure it doesn't ever have jumping cars. There were several times when you were expecting a trick when Level 1 came up, s...

Okay, I'm confused. Did you mix up the entries when playing and not catch this until after recording so you don't mention it in the video, or did you play 4th and then a 2nd and then mess up the description?

Re: WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$ - THREAD!

Add me to the "between games" chorus - not very loud here, but I glanced at the video comments and there's a lot of people suggesting it there. I feel like doing it all at once, whether now or as its own LP, would get pretty draining at the end. But as a goofy little thing you do between o...
