Re: ASMBXT Discussion Thread
Is it possible for me to just submit the version 2 of my level if no one has really reviewed it and if I think it's suitable for it to be in? Or should I wait for someone to review it and then fix and finally submit it? I'd prefer the latter but I'm just in fear that we'll be eventually be passed th...

Re: ASMBXT Level Review Thread
Third section... I have NO idea how you're supposed to get that star, which I only ever noticed by viewing the editor. There's no indication you can get up there, or even if you'd want to. I'd either have a warp lead to that star, or remove it. All right, here's the solution: In Section 3 (where th...

Re: ASMBXT Level Review Thread
That part is actually intentional, completely possible, and will not be changed. You just gotta change your approach to the problem. (wait for them to pass, then drop down) Oh yeah, that makes sense if you consider where the activating rupees are. But I was assuming by the level name "Gotta be...

Re: ASMBXT Level Review Thread
"Gotta Go Quick" by MrWeirdGuy Love the Megaman gimmick you were able to bring, though I thought it was decent intro level for Sheath/Link, even though it was a bit challenging at parts. The scenery and music are great, I thought it brought a really nice atmosphere to the level. The entir...

Huh really? I could have sworn the deadline was at the end of January for all finished levels, meaning newer levels could still be submitted before this date and completely finished before the deadline.
Also, who said the deadline for new levels was tomorrow?

Re: ASMBXT Discussion Thread
Is it just me or do we already have enough levels? Right now we have about: 114 levels according to the wiki If the deadline is in about a month there will be the possibility there'll be way more levels than the game may be able to handle. Does anyone know if there's a limit on how many stars we can...

"Treasure Island" by Willhart This is a real neat-o level. The graphics are real splendid (especially the trees) and the level's timbre is nice. I wouldn't put the credits for the level in the level, maybe put them in a txt file or something. Also the coins are tiny, and for some reason I...

Re: ASMBXT: Post Levels Here
Here's a thing I've been working on for a while: Frozen Phony Key Factory It's nowhere near completion yet, as you will probably see by the outside of the factory and near the end of the level. It's difficult and pretty lengthy, so consider it a World 6-World 8 level. Just posting it as a first draf...

Re: ASMBXT Level Review Thread
Hey Ignoritus, just wanted to let you know that the light-blue flying koopa graphic in the Edge of the Universe has a slight visible black box around it. I'm pretty sure you know how to fix it though. And what the heck, I found the level to be fairly difficult (at least the first section). Maybe it ...

Re: ASMBXT - Password System
So if we want to have a password for our level, should we post it in this thread with the password itself?
Also, someone should make a page or edit a page on the wiki indicating which levels have passwords and whatnot. And to be able to set a limit of passwords we can have.

Re: ASMBXT - Sounds & Music
I finished a sweet chiptune funk/swing song today, it might be good for a wasteland or desert or slum level with modifications (slowing it down a bit?, editing so it loops, ...) http://soundcloud.com/patashu/chiptune-funk-tired-of-wandering Ooh, ooh, I like that a lot! I'm not sure if you were goin...

Re: outsourced stuff credits
Is it okay to simply credit the SMBX GFX PACK by Red Yoshi + Supermarioman? too lazy to dig up what I've used so far! Can we cite the person if we know who it was that made it? Or should we continue to cite the GFX pack? Just wanting to give credit to the person Also: If we got our music from a You...

Re: ASMBXT Level Review Thread
My issue with the net, basically, was how sometimes you could just climb along with it just fine, and sometimes you'd constantly have to 'jump' to keep up. THe level was not designed with the latter in mind, and it feels more natural and more 'fair' to me to just have to wait now and then instead. ...

Review of murder place death zone (Ver. 2 [?]) I feel that the slowed down boo/fence ma-jigger made it harder for me, I don't know why but Demo keeps on hilariously sipping and sliding all over the fence even more for some reason. But then again, it might be just how I was used to controlling the fe...

Re: SMBX Help Thread
The framestyle is just the type of animation the npc goes through when walking left or right, here's some better descriptions of what each number does. framestyle=0 - acts like a goomba, means, both left and right movement use the same sprite. framestyle=1 - the NPC have sprites for both left and ri...

Here are some levels I decided to review, oh man. Level: Ascend Author: yoshicookiezeus FInished/Guidelines Met?: Not yet. I really like what you've got started here. The level design is neat and keeps the player on its toes. The only flaw I could probably bicker about is the Green switch with the f...

Re: SMBX Help Thread
Actually, it is possible for some backgrounds. Some backgrounds have frames like the npcs, so it is technically possible to create a feeling of movement, but it's fairly difficult. The only one I've ever seen had only four frames where the background moved to the left, and the style was all blurry t...

Re: SMBX Help Thread
How do you make an NPC have more than 1 box of dialogue? Basicallt what Kuribo said, but here's a lengthy version: 1. Create a new event and name it (for instance "npc talk"), you'll see an entry place for text called "Message" on the event tab; insert the text for your 2nd text...

Re: ASMBXT: Because Why Not?
I'd like to contribute a level of some sort, been messing with the SMBX engine for a while now. And speaking of asmt graphics, would we be placing asmt graphics with the major graphics in the game for the entirety of the game? Such as replacing standard goombas with a loaf of bread or changing the a...

Love this game so far, it can be so chaotic. Personal favorite power at the moment is Light + bounce.
Just wondering raocow, are you going to do a 'perfect' runthrough of the game eventually? Or are you still going to playthrough the levels as usual?

Aha! The Luigi's knocked out coins can reveal invisible blocks! I knew they were useful for something!
Also, I feel that Boom-Boom Shroob guy is out of place.

Re: SMBX: Super Talking Time Bros; Let's talk about it
I think hitting a block with a coin on it only collects the coin. The only sort of gimmick that works for Luigi only is something with high jumps or lots of sliding, since he slides more than Mario. Though there's not much you can do with sliding puzzles that can't be broken somehow and high jumps ...
