Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

It's not at all too hard for him, especially with the Melody charm. The vast majority of the bosses can be learned well enough that you'll never have any trouble with them. Sly is actually super easy once you actually get to know all of his moves. Everything he does that isn't a basic slash attack i...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

Ascended Markoth and Ascended Grey Prince Zote are the only bosses in this thing where I still feel like their challenge is a bit on the unfair side. Whenever I do actually manage beat them without losing most of my health I feel like I got extremely lucky. Then again I don't have the Melody charm, ...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

Pure Vessel is such an amazing boss fight. I actually like this fight more than Nightmare King because you're constantly looking for offensive opportunities while dodging his attacks, as opposed to NKG which is primarily a defensive fight. I had to practice against him for like a couple hours until ...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

Everyone seems super down on the Godmaster area but to me this all just made me love the game that much more. If not for this, I would never have learned the proper actual strategies for fighting a lot of this game's bosses because during the main game they were usually easy enough to just mash my f...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

When I first found out about this White Defender boss I was perplexed as to how anyone could ever possibly find it without being told about it outside of the game. As far as I know, the only in-game hint (if you can call it that), is that you'll eventually face that boss in the Godhome challenges, a...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Blessings

lore Huh... I'm surprised at how little of the plot I actually knew about despite having completed the game already. It's a lot more interesting than I thought. I guess I'm not too good at interpreting these kind of cryptic dialog hints because I was pretty thorough in getting all the NPC/dream dia...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Hide and Go Shriek

Glowing Womb has a weird interaction with defender's crest you might wanna try out. Not actually use, but try out. May as well just point to this video which shows all of the effects of various charm combinations that you likely would never know about unless you used those charms a lot in your norm...

Re: Wario Land 3 - With input from Samus

I agree with the previous post. The having to loop around thing is just Wario Land 3 being Wario Land 3, other than that it's just kind of a clever little puzzle level that expects you to be observant and pay attention to what's going on, which raocow clearly wasn't in the mood for at the time.

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - Hide and Go Shriek

I didn't think to try killing all the enemies ahead of time. I just assumed they all respawned after you went more than 1 room away from them. My path for the flower quest was: - Down into City of Tears through the elevator from Resting Grounds - Down to King's Station, then left across the ground u...

Re: Wario Land 3 - With input from Samus

I'm not really sure if the LP would be better with or without the music coins. On one hand, it's a lot of redoing levels, but on the other hand, a lot of the music coins involve bits of level design that you would otherwise never experience if you were only going for the chests (as raocow has most l...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - The Howling: Reborn

In a sprawling open world game like this, when the game has missable flavor text depending on what order you do things in, I think it's best to just not worry about trying to get all of it, at least not in the first playthrough. I might make that a goal of a 2nd playthrough, however, as it gives me ...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - The Howling: Reborn

Exploring Deepnest early without the lantern seems like it'd be quite the experience, I'm almost tempted to try it on my next playthough. Come to think of it, wouldn't you not be able to see your doppleganger if you go in without the lantern? Or would your doppleganger also have a small light around...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - The Descending

This game isn't really close to being Rabi Ribi levels of difficult, so I can imagine him raocowing through the game without learning certain things. It's all good though. this is the kinda thing I enjoy watching blind LPs for. It's interesting to see people find other ways to play through the game ...

Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - The Deadly Mantis

A lot of the point of this game is exploring and finding your way yourself, at least for now, he can just look at the map and figure out where he can explore since there's lots he hasn't seen. So yeah stuff like that where he's found it and might forget later. I'm also thinking stuff he missed on s...

Re: JIGGLY ZONE

I think it would be really interesting to see a playthrough that shows the maximum item/jiggler collection you can achieve before each of the new abilities. Basically a playthrough where you do everything in the hardest way possible, without letting the new abilities like 5-jumps/gravity/ghost trivi...

Re: JIGGLY ZONE

okay so now this time I think I really AM hopelessly stuck at The bottom of Crimson Islands. I assume the spike power must be around here somewhere but I've explored everything I can in Mouth, Stomach, and Heart and there seems to be nowhere else to go and there's no way to get back up through Mouth...

Re: JIGGLY ZONE

I'm like hopelessly stuck trying to find one of the Jigglys in Lavender Cemetary Descent. The 4 of them I found already are: the 3 that you can see directly left, down, and right of the lower door, and the 1 that's right by the upper door. I've tried following the entire border of this spike maze an...

Re: JIGGLY ZONE

wow, I'm definitely already seeing a lot of the influences of both creators in this. the whole feel of "you're in a big 2d maze and you gotta collect all the things" from cat planet is there, and I also see a lot of that general vibe of weird abstract nonsense from craz'd in there as well....

Re: Celeste - Cho Oyu

I think you could probably get a feel for how to bop Oshiro consistently, but I don't know how you even get to that point other than persistence. Although, you do have footage of a time when you managed to do it quite cleanly... So in theory you could check through that video to analyze the exact mo...

Re: Celeste - Hidden Peak

Since I played a bunch of the earlier B-side levels as soon as they became available, my red skull collection on them has been drastically higher than raocow's red skull count on every one of the B-sides up to 5... but 6-B is I guess where the difficulty slope of the A-B-alternating playthrough sync...

Re: Celeste - Broad Peak (Gasherbrum was greedy)

The feather in chapter 6/7 is one of those things that is actually a LOT easier if you use an analog stick... Personally I'm still 100% behind analog stick control for this game I don't care what anyone says.

Re: Celeste - Gasherbrum III

I think raocow's trouble with the dash distance was mostly because he was jumping from too high up and hitting the ceiling, so he had to dash early in order to not hit the wall on the other side of the dash block, and that's what was causing him to dash too early so many times. I had a lot of that s...

gettin' into Splatoon 2 again, such a fun game. Same here. Re: COMING UP NEXT

I recently pitched "real-life-core all the marios". The "raocow's played so much mario already that there's not as much to get out of the games" problem and the "real-life core risks missing most of the game" problem solve each other! Imagine the excitement of guessing...

Re: COMING UP NEXT

For whatever it's worth, I'm putting my vote in for wanting to see raocow do "all the Kirbys" at some point. That series is just very, very charming and I love every single one of those games even the weird ones like Canvas Curse/Rainbow Curse (although Canvas Curse would be impossible to ...
