Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
As I wait to receive my level names, I'm toying with turning Mario into a satellite orbiting a gravity well using LunaLua. That's totally not something I'd do during an actual contest level. Nope. Nosiree.

Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
Quick question - what are the rules with respect to LunaLua libraries? I'm looking to possibly use CinematX in my level, and it's not included in the devkit. Obviously, adding libraries individually won't work, because if two people use different versions of the same library, there may be cross com...

I dearly hope Horikawa uses some form of automation for the level name generation.raocow in the other thread wrote:I'm so sorry horikawa that you have to generate SO MANY NAMES wow that is amazing the amount of people signing up.

Re: MaGL X2 Discussion. No raocows! NOT the sign up thread!
Any tips for a first timer? Just don't want to muck it up too badly, but probably will since it will be my first level. So looking forward to getting started. See the following for example: Is there a list of generally frowned upon level design things? AKA don't bury bosses in radishes, don't make ...

Feeling pretty anxious to be getting the level name choices and such...
Have been playing around a bit with LunaLua and have various ideas... of course most of them will surely not be applicable to the level theme so, will have to come up with more I'm sure...

Re: He Doesn't Make Anyone Mad, but MaGL X Isn't Over!
I would just like to say that I really liked both Mountain by Litchh and It's a SMB1 Level, Except way more Epic by WiiRool today. Those two would be good contenders for my overall favourite thus far, on account of both having a nice concept, look fun to play, do some nifty things in the SMBX engine...

Re: Each Judge Possesses an Opinion of their Own
The real fun begins when you start layering the movements. Thwomp tied to a Boo-controlled layer, tied to a Rotodisk-controlled layer, tied to a Ninji-controlled layer (can one do that in the SMBX engine?)Dog In Da Grass wrote:Fun Fact: I've tested the Rotodisk-Thwomp thing while making my level and it's just silly

No no, the final world will consist of using the disco-thromp techniques to make level entrances that run away from the player :DDog In Da Grass wrote:The final world is just an open field with the levels being miles apart.

Re: Each Judge Possesses an Opinion of their Own
I thought A Proud Yoshi in the Castle Ruins was rather nifty. Anyone know exactly how that thwomp was done exactly? It kind of seems like an offscreen lakitu, with a layer attached to it, with thwomps on that layer... except the movement didn't quite seem like lakitu... so what enemy is it...

"phpbb" is an id, not a class, furthermore, to heck with it:

My favourite is definitely My Own Take on Bowser's Back Door by Lejes. It's just so... funny. Okay, So Imagine a Japanese Cloud Train... by Mabel also ranks highly with me for similar reasons.Horikawa Otane wrote:So... What are peep's favourite World 4 levels?

Re: Wait and Run, We'll MaGL X - It's always been our Dream!
I have to say... I really really liked "My Own Take on Bowser's Back Door". The others today were not bad either, but "My Own Take on Bowser's Back Door" stands out as most memorable to me by far. It's not the same because it's only one resource instead of the three you had in MA...
