Re: pholtos' Rando Pokemon Tourney IV - Round 1
Match 1 We only had one match so far. It was going pretty decently until up at the very end he randomly disappeared for whatever reason. I'm just posting this for a headsup though. I await whenever he'll eventually be back. My internet was disconnected for about 3 hours. My connection is generally ...

Wow, I never realized you could keep going to the right on roof where you fight Asha. I always figured that'd be a sheer drop to your death sort of thing.
...Not that that would make any sense, considering Iji doesn't take fall damage, but yeah.

Re: Iji - Will raocow be aggressive or passive? Pfft... that's easy to answer
Oh, it's this game. I remember playing this game, trying to 100% it, and then getting frustrated when I couldn't find most of the secret stuff which I'll not mention here. Not because it's hard to find, but because there is a lot of secret stuff. This is one of those games that plays best unspoiled ...

Re: Generic academia thread
I'm a computer engineering person here. I'm not sure how exactly it compares to formal Computer Science, but it definitely is very oriented towards writing software and stuff. I can't say I've really found my niche though, I mean, I haven't really found anything I especially like. Then again, I have...

Oh, crud. I'm going to have to sit this week out.
Sorry for bringing it up on such short notice, some stuff came up.
*Sigh*, looks like it might take a bit longer to get back to the main gig.

Re: Talkhaus IRC Call of Cthulhu RPG recruitment thread! \o/
Well, if you ask me, the difference in pacing comes from us approaching the two games differently and also the flavour. The main game we've been quite careful and paranoid, taking our time to gather clues before facing the great ancient evil, because the direct approach may not work here. Around the...

Re: Which shift key do you use
I use the right shift when capitalizing something typed on my left hand, and viceversa, because it's more comfortable to alternate hands when typing. Also, I never use capslock. That said, there may be a slight bias to one or the other shift keys, because of letter frequencies and whatnot. More inte...

So you modify a C-Compiler to make your own language? This is the weirdest thing I ever heared O.o ... It is a ton of work you are trying to do. Why not use languages which already have these features like Java? Or why not embed a scripting language like lua? Both have a GC and the latter is very s...

Re: First Experience with raocow
I used to follow a bunch of webcomics.
Then I stumbled onto the a.t.xs series, and fell in love with the zany madcap anime-esque humour.
Only then did I find out raocow was better known for being an LPer.

Re: Good ways to practice programming
The best way to practice programming is to program things, somewhat similar to how the best way to get good at math is to math things. So, yes, it does boil down to programming a bunch of random things. A few pointers: 0.- Get very good at one language first, and then try learning others. Most commo...
