Re: HOLLOW KNIGHT - The Howling: Reborn
Deepnest, too, is a sort of dream, albeit of the twisting, claustrophobic kind where the out-of-focus world is not blurred by a soft fog, but by blackness and cold stone, a place whose angles seem to bespeak a certain structure, yet one which dissolves and reforms (but not before your eyes, never be...

Re: Mega Man Battle Network WS - Network Connection Found
I'm so glad it's the lazy games that we get to see twice. It's raocow's determined to put in the effort where the creators just couldn't be arsed.

Re: Mega Man & Bass (GBA) - Not Exactly Capcom's Forte
I'm not sure exactly what the point of having Tengu Man in this game is when he doesn't shout "HERE YOU GOOOO!"

Re: Mega Man Zero - Zero to Hero
X8 did not exist back then. Zero's ending from X6 directly sets up MMZero as those games were developed concurrently, and it's shown there that X6-design Zero seals himself away to later be awakened by Ciel I know about the BIG Zero 3 spoiler but that doesn't change this at all . There is no reason...

Re: Mega Man Zero - Zero to Hero
In case someone not familiar doesn't know, Zero isn't supposed to look any different in-universe, it's only the art style that has changed. So in-universe, Zero looks he did from the X series. As many people have said, this is basically just another artist's lens into the world of Megaman X/Zero, s...

Oh, Hobo Sigma, you're still the hobiest. And a perfect metaphor for this game. For that reason, you will always has a special, half-completed place in our robotic hearts.

Re: Celeste - Himalchuli
Youtube keeps recommending a video for me called "What Celeste borrows from Mario". Never mind that the entire game is basically Jumper-flavored Knytt Stories, or that this level here in particular borrows its central concept from Final Fantasy Legend, noooooo, it's always just Mario.

I'll say this for Ground Scaravich's level: they certainly chose the appropriate boss motif for such a stage.

Re: Chocolate Level Design Contest 2018 - apples
There were something like 180 entries, so yes, there's a huge swath of mediocrity in the middle. I don't know what you're talking about; I'm sure spamming tile 1F0 like it's 1990 and the future still means flying cars is all you need for a fun and interesting level filled with Big Larfs TM and I do...

Re: Mega Man Xtreme 2 - From One Xtreme to the Other
Phun historical linguistics phact: "laguz" is a Proto-Germanic word meaning "sea" or "lake" or other body of water (It is also presumably the name of the L-rune, ᛚ, in the Elder Futhark, called "lǫgr" in the Younger Futhark and "lagu" in the Anglo-Fr...

Re: Mega Man X5 - The End of the Mega Man X Series
Silly raocow, languages tend to diverge over time rather than congeal. The future is unlikely to be exempt from this rule, scifi clichés created primarily by Anglophone monolinguals aside. Even if you were to start a new society on the moon with just one language, it would almost certainly diverge i...

Re: Super Mario Doomsday - Large Hadron Collider Black Hole
You know, I was a bit skeptical about the use of Super Mario Advance voice clips in this game at first, but with respect to Mario clipping through the ground and plunging headlong in to the abyss today, I must concede that the words "Ooooooooh, mamma mia!" were never more on point.
