Gamma is not a worse version of Beta, raocow. Like in games development, the order would be Alpha<Beta<(non-existant)Gamma. So, yeah.

Seeing all the Amy faces reminded me that this is the last time we'll see the characters really emote in 3D- SA2 is close, but not quite as cartoony.

The illustration doesn't actually affect the screen space, because if the game needed more screen space it would've had a wider screen and the illustration attached next to that; basically the game window would have been bigger. Whilst taking up a whole bunch of the screen for a character portrait is probably not the best UI decision, the illustrations are very cute so they can stay.
