I think "The Green Switch" would have benefited from being either only the platforming section or only the puzzle section. You can't really ask the player to spend the time figuring out the puzzle right after they played through the first half and most likely lost a lot of lives - although...

You can watch levelengine talk about his level here , it's really interesting! "Old Fogey Skie" definitely feels like a VIP level, but somehow more compact and more focused on each individual obstacle. While the autoscroller adds a constant pressure, I think it makes it a lot more interest...

I think spreading the recordings out like that is a pretty good idea, especially because the secret exit is arguably harder than the normal one. If you play them back to back (which a lot of people do since it's the same level and it makes sense to try and finish it after you started) it's very easy...

I think that "The Smog That Smiles Back" works pretty well where it is on the map. Both fortresses are on the main path, so you have to play through both of them anyway and I don't think that playing "The Fortress of the Giant Monsters" right after either "Manky Bridge"...
