Re: La-Mulana - The Lurking Horror
Frustration with the boss fight and jumping physics aside, today was really a very good day in terms of progress. Viy's just hard. Find a method that works for you, and perhaps you can finally feel contentment with achieving the victory. A fitting music track, I think, for such an ominous challenge....

Re: La-Mulana - Fail-Safe
One thing that has been bugging me since the beginning of the LP. You know that invisible bridge in Guidance Gate? raocow found it on his own, but wasn't there a hint about it from a tablet? Is it still in the remake? I don't recall rao reading it. I know it's in the original. It even had an image ...

Re: La-Mulana - Fail-Safe
For my money, there's one track in the game that most clearly communicates "foreboding." And it's on display today.

Re: La-Mulana - Sorcerer
(that made me laugh)
Oh hey, Baphomet's theme music! Unique among the boss tracks for its 6/8 time signature. One of my favorites and, I think, well worth a listen.

Re: La-Mulana - Sorcerer
I am neither confirming nor denying whether this is accurate. I won't get into spoilers here about things raocow has not yet seen.
Either way, you're simply guessing about this, given your admission you never got past defeating 5 Guardians yourself - right?

Re: La-Mulana - Sorcerer
Theoretically, you could just gather all 8 Ankh Jewels at once, and then fight them back-to-back in any order. No. Example reason why, from what we've seen so far: The Ankh Jewel in Twin Labyrinths can't be obtained until after the poison is cleared. The poison can't be cleared until after Ellmac i...

Re: La-Mulana - Sorcerer
I was glad to see raocow trying the Chakram again. As to his question "when did I get the Chakram back": they were dropped by a specific pot in the Endless Corridor third floor How do you know to kill the white one? Well, you figured out on your own how to solve the first half, the black a...

Re: La-Mulana - Dual Transform
Also, I really love how this new comment policy makes every thread look like it's some super top-secret government report. I'm half expecting to hover my mouse over a spoiler and see mention of Area 51 and aliens. - [Archaeology Dictionary: Anunnaki] Resembles the mural of a god in Sumerian mytholo...

Re: La-Mulana - Dual Transform
Hey Voltgloss Quick question. At 6:49 in the video raocow tried flaring the back of the back of the twin at H-5. Did he just miss the hitbox of the statue? Or did he have to flare the one at C-5 first? He missed the hitbox. By pixels. The flare needs to hit the front of the face - where the eyes ar...

Re: La-Mulana - Superluminal Vagrant Twin
Is there any significance to the statues of Idigna and Buranun having the number "3" on their backs? Perhaps there's a potentially relevant tablet. Edit: I never knew this until I just now Googled it - and this isn't a spoiler for the game - but apparently the names "Idigna" and...

Re: La-Mulana - One Eye Open
That's a really weird way to design a hint system. Wouldn't it have been easier to just have an event flag trigger when you reach the area, unlocking the hint? I agree, at least for the particular hint we're talking about. Indeed, some of Mulbruk's other hints ARE provided exactly like you describe...

Re: La-Mulana - One Eye Open
Other might consider it backseat gaming. I'm pretty sure he can still get that hint anyways. He just needs to go and actually get it is all. He can get it later , but not right now. Explanation in the spoiler block. The hint in question comes from Mulbruk. Some of her clues are tied to overall game...

Re: SUPER - Mario and Detteiu's Trap Tower
So if you haven't pressed all the switches, but reach and save at the airship level... Is your save completely ruined? Because you can't beat the level AND can't leave? Or are the dotted line areas something other than reverse switch blocks?

1. Personal preference; and
2. raocow's playing the remake, so I'm posting tracks from the remake.
I've no problem with others posting the original's tracks.

Re: La-Mulana - One Eye Open
The Endless Corridor has another of my favorite tracks in the game. That bass line! That drum beat! Nothing primitive about this one... it really encourages one to dance around (or through) those traps!

Re: La-Mulana - Endless, Nameless
As others mentioned, he's asking for a hint, isn't he? Or is that not the case? I don't see why it needs to be withheld if that's the case. The issue, summarized: Giving raocow the hint he requests will inadvertently also give him a hint for future puzzles in both this game and the sequel. raocow p...

Separately, I've added to the opening posts the upgraded maps that raocow reviewed yesterday (Gate of Guidance and Endless Corridor). The other upgraded maps will be added only if and after raocow reviews them in-game.

Re: La-Mulana - Endless, Nameless
And just an y/n answer to the question, "Could I solve that puzzle without finding more items or places than I have so far?" Yes you could solve it now. I don't think that question/answer is accurate. The issue is it conflates two questions, which have two different answers. Here's what I...

@raocow - you are not allowed to ask for the solution to the gate puzzle. I'm going to request nobody answers this as raocow needs to figure it out for himself. Note: haven't watched the vid yet but I am almost certain I know which puzzle is being referred to here :P I hear you. Proposition: might ...

Re: La-Mulana - The Elysium Enigma
You are in a room with no windows, doors or any exit. The only items are a mirror and a table. How do you escape? Look in the mirror, then at the wall and back at the mirror to see what you saw. Use the saw to cut the table in half and join the two halves to make a whole. Put the “hole” on the wall...

Re: La-Mulana - The Elysium Enigma
Solving this puzzle doesn't really generate feelings of "Oh it makes sense now!" Pretty much everybody just remarks "That was stupid." It's like that schoolyard A Room With No Windows riddle. It's fine to have an opinion about a puzzle being bad (I have such opinions myself abou...
