Re: Mega Man - The Man that is a Robot Kid

Also, here's a couple songs infamous for sounding similar to Elec Man's music. OMD8hBsA-RI IE7z3i8PYMU Worth noting Faithfully was released 4 years prior to Mega Man, and with the series' running theme of rock music, it's not too hard to believe there was some inspiration with that riff. All the Ri...

Re: Kirby Thing(NES-ish Kirby engine, maybe Make A Good Kirby?)

What are you using to make this engine? Is it done in C++? It looks very nifty either way, and I personally have no issues with the artsyle (I grew up with Kirby's Adventure, I've always been fond of it). I feel it'd be convenient and coherent enough to make level designing for the engine easy as w...

Re: MaGL 3 results: can't spell tragedy without gyrated

What makes things especially tragic to me is this isn't just some random newbie/joke/badly designed level, under the potential "rudeness" of using a different rom as a base and the emulator glitches looks to be a really nicely designed level? Actually, looking at the video of the secret exit, basica...

Re: Kirby Thing(NES-ish Kirby engine, maybe Make A Good Kirby?)

I was wondering about if the art stuff would cause issues or not. I was figuring it'd work out because of how Make a Good Mega Man Level happened, occasional 16-bit tilesets, music in different styles, etc., and I planned on not making restrictions too strict(There'd be a paralax BG layer or two so ...

Re: Kirby Thing(NES-ish Kirby engine, maybe Make A Good Kirby?)

CBL: I've actually got a private list of different abilities I wanted to include/were plausible to include, what I might tweak or have to remove for them, etc, though it's definitely too big for this project unless I find out I can seriously streamline ability creation(though I'm hoping maybe I can?...

Kirby Thing(NES-ish Kirby engine, maybe Make A Good Kirby?)

So, hi there! I'm DinnerSonic, you might know me from A2XT as "he made a snow level I guess" or from MaGL X as the guy who made a level with a dead Yoshi Baby joke. Maybe you heard of Thingio or Super Mario Melatonin? Or maybe you know me as the guy who programmed certain Cat Girl game? Anyways non...

Re: Kirby's Adventure - More pink than pink

"I hope you enjoyed my level for the Make A Short Kirby Level Game contest!"

Did you know there's level editors for Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Super Star Ultra out there? They're no Lunar Magic or SMBX, but is a Talkhaus Kirby Contest out of the question?

SO. We've decided it's probably about time to actually check who of you guys with claimed names even still exist. Hey! That's me! I exist! ... frick I forgot to try to get back to this, huh. I had some neat ideas and how I could pull them off, but both time and actual level design talent are things...

Re: Name-Claiming Thread

Unless you want to wait for me to get more free time, I realize I'm probably not going to get around to my two claimed levels... "A Blue Pipe in the Starry Underground" and "Oh this? It's just your average sinking mountain level" So you can unclaim those two, unless someone wants me to give the idea...

Re: Discussion. Do we have a running plot or not?

I'm guessing if it goes with a hub it won't happen, but I really like the idea of an attempt at having every level have some plot relevance, ideally as dumb as can be. Heck, maybe even have it an excuse plot in-story? The Spirit of Rejected MAGL Levels leaves books outside of each level explaining h...

Re: Name-Claiming Thread

Okay, I'm not even sure if I should do this, I don't know how long this is going on, if my skills are quality enough for something that's not "literally anything with a goal gets in" still, etc, etc, but dang it, I want to do stuff again! It might be a bad idea to take more than one level, but it me...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing

I'll try and fix things up to work with the things that were pointed out, but before that, I'll say that the switch song is actually a remix of sorts. Technically it's just an MP3 of a midi of the NSMB switch slowed down with different instruments but it shouldn't trigger things any more than other ...

Re: A2MBXT beta testing

Out of Season -Someone needs to make the level creator’s intended patch if they don’t. It will fix everything wrong with this level except that you should remove the warp out of the secret route back to the normal route as well. There's no reason to want to go back. Sorry for the delays, a mixture ...

Re: LunaDLL help thread

Sliding chains enemies like a starman when you slide into them, right? Then again, sliding doesn't kill nearly as many enemy types as the hammer, which also has chainability. Could a single invisible hammer be spawned, given some form of extra tag in the memory for LunaDLL to scan for, then glued to...

Re: A2MBXT Discussion Thread

I'm mentally toying with the idea for an A2MBXT Episode 2 level, and was wondering if what might essentially be a Doctor Who parody mixed with SMB2 would clash with the A2MBXT style. Sniffit Daleks, time travel level gimmicks and so on... Talking Time Bros had a DW reference though, right? Oh, and s...

If the only real newer than new changes I should take into account are that and the ice Cat Llama as a reward, I could just do those on mine and things would be fine, right?

Re: A2MBXT beta testing

Just want to say, personal lifey things have prevented me from finalizing my revision of Out of Season, which includes a revamp to the P-Switch run, which is now a more forgiving block type switch run. The Raocoins are placed differently and don't require a confusing sign to explain, I've rebalanced...

Re: Never Again, raocow's in the top ten! He's been training

Looks like I missed both the Make a Good Drama contest and the Make a Good "Make a Good (x)" Joke contest. On a more sort of serious note, both the drama and the fact it related to a comical/meta level(I'll have to say it's one of my favorites due to that, actually) makes me think, could someone pul...

Say, uh, if beta testing is happening now, does that mean it's too late to submit another revision of my level? IRL things prevented me from testing the changes to things like Raocoin and midpoint placement and the touched up goal.

Re: LunaDLL help thread

How hard would it be to add another value to all the commands, used purely as an identifier the way the unused one gets used for some values? I realize without that, anything that requires the type of byte would fall apart, which includes several of the ideas I tried to toss at you. Can LunaDLL be s...

Re: LunaDLL help thread

As I mentioned, then, I feel that some way to read values from memory/variables and use them for other commands(I assume as a feature of/alternative to ModParam would be easier to code than changing the way values work for everything) would open up a decent amount of possibilities. I'd also like to ...
