Re: MaGL 3 results: in the next episode: multivariable calculus

To-day's efforts notwithstanding, undoubtedly the finest example of raocow's ignorance of mathematics remains this one. You can all the sums in Lespna's level in your head quite easily, even finding the root of 5776 (Assuming that it's a whole number) you know what 7 and 8 squared are so you know 70...

Re: Make A Good Level Contest (SMW) 3 - Discussion

I don't really watch raocow these days unless he's playing smw hacks so it is actually exciting [ed: honestly] for it be raocow season again. I look forward to my level placing somewhere and there being some opinions about it. I may as well mention my favourite levels ft029: one exit had nothing to ...

Re: [LAST DAY! PANIC!] Make A Good Level Contest (SMW) 3 - Discussion

Has anyone tried my level? I wanted to get some feedback. I hope it's better than the ones from the previous contests, but I'm not sure if I should submit one more version if that's okay. In the second room w/the chairs, some weird sprites appear for some reason, but I don't see them in Lunar Magic...

that Touhou song is barely recognizable I always think it sounds like Scarborough Fair. Here is my guide "On killing lakitu" from the smw twice daily newsletter, It's A Smoo World (Aug 24th 2012 (evening edition)). So that the cloud vanishes immediately: -Jumping on his head So that the c...

The hack is pretty weird and unsatisfactory so possibly the creator doesn't want it kicking around and I am exceeding the duties of an archivist by posting it  .

Re: Make A Good Level Contest (SMW) 3 - Rules/Submissions

This level was obviously not made by me as there aren't any throw blocks in it. pellmell.zip I would like to blame FrozenQuills (see the video posted in the other thread) for the gimmick of this level and thank HertzDevil for the port of "Gaze Up at the Darkness" from Castlevania: Portrait...

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep60d - I beat the green switch palace without the movie!

I had forgotten about bypassing the invisible block that at the end of the puzzle. It wasn't originally intended but I left it alone because it didn't seem to matter very much -- in my opinion, the essential part of the puzzle involves correctly despawning the Yoshi to guide the mushroom. That said,...

Re: Let's Play JUMP! A talkhaus non-ASMT Mario Romhack - Ep60b - Green Switch Palace: The Midpointing

I'm disappointed you never visited Koumei, but that's a tribute to your perspicacity (when you get around to contrasting your playthrough with his, you'll see raocow never did anything but visit Koumei, which was both funny and heart-breaking). The invisible Yoshi shenanigans are only necessary for ...

Re: VIP 3 Redux: Toxic Intentions

You can only have one banzai bill or big boo at a time in vanilla smw because they only spawn in one of the sprite slots. But when you take an item through a pipe, it typically occupies that exact sprite slot, thereby causing, say, a big boo not to spawn. I only mention this because raocow has twice...

( I believe this level by Morsel/Morceau that I feel was inspired by this level Topical Dev. Comm. Re: VIP 3 Redux: The Forested Void

It's quite easy to despawn the pokey (see spoiler). Why raocow didn't try this after mentioning the possibility instead of continuing to try something of which he knows that "it's possible" (surely to claim this knowledge is optimistic) is beyond me. stand above and to the left until pokey...

Re: VIP 3 Redux: A Dip on the Long Island

There is an easy life farm in this world (it's over on the left side). All ON/OFF switches behave like that in VIP3 (I blame FuSoYa's broken screen scrolling pipes myself, they also break glass blocks (those with a switching power-up in those) in such a way that hitting them pretty much causes you t...

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"

Also at the section with the changing powerup and megaspike tunnel, you actually don't need the star. You can just pick up any powerup and then take damage and use the invulnerability frames to damage boost through. Seems kinda weird it was coded that way... There's no extraneous coding, I just abu...

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"

I just tried it with the boo, the magikoopa, 5 lasers on screen and an infinte dropped reserve item and I was able to pick up the blocks. I am almost sure that that part, at least, was not my fault. Stop using ZSNES While this is excellent advice and no doubt kindly meant brave emulator warrior, I ...

Re: JUMP - actually stands for "Jolpe Utterly Made Poop" and maybe "Jolly Upsetting Moving Podoboos"

As I remember, the index was at 7 for the boo rings (cluster sprites) which didn't work correctly with 0/10, and switches (by levelasm) to 0 for the big boo (I guess if the slots are somehow occupied this won't help). The throw blocks are spawned as in smw (I modifed the block particularly to do thi...

Yeah, my rooms in these castles were supposed to be 'less so' rather than morceau, but that one is definitely a bit too easy. I apologise to every one for my poor judgment and will make it a bit harder for the next update.

Re: JUMP - stands for "Just Understanding Morsel's Palace"

Actually, Bowser was made in one Sunday morning afternoon, but there was no special coding involved (my ASM is rather basic). It's interesting levelengine (in a youtube lp) did 'Frogger' for choice (of course, he didn't know I had made it), although it gave most problems here. I was also physically ...
