Hey, I'm glad fans like trying to make sense of stuff more than developers sometimes. This is one of those cases. Poor raocow. You could feel the lack of interest thanks to the game making excuse plot reasons for the Knock Out battles.

Heroes in Sonic's world are weird. Shadow says taking candy from babies is fine with him in the true hero path, Silver actually steals rings from a kid around half his age here, and even Sonic's a jerk depending on the game.
