Re: What games are you playing?

Beat Ys VIII. There was enough in the main game here that I'm satisfied with leaving it there and not doing the post-game dungeon. Besides, from what I saw, it's mostly fight, fight, fight and the last chapter had plenty of that anyhoo. Kind of thinking of playing Ys VI on the PSP, although I've hea...

Re: One Or Two Silvanas - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - I Feel Like Some Apple Pie!

Have a question real quick since I don't know. Is this the only Sonic game to have the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog dudes? You know, their versions of Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts? I'm pretty sure Spinball was the only one with the SatAM/Archie Comics cast.

Re: One Or Two Silvanas - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - I Feel Like Some Apple Pie!

Pretty much. Plan more for what's coming next than what the current piece is. If you have one brain hiccup, unless it can be salvaged like today's one was, that'll be that.

Re: What games are you playing?

Still working through Ys VIII right now and getting close to the end. Game has a lot of fun moments that are only brought down in places by overkill either on plot in an early chapter and all the fighting heavy side quests it crams in right before this final stretch run. Glad I'm playing this on the...

Re: One Or Two Silvanas - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - I Feel Like Some Apple Pie!

I was a fan of Puyo Puyo Tetris on the Switch. That's about the only experience I have with these games outside of one other quick instance. Fun stuff. Look at what's coming, quickly figure out what you want to do with it, and get your moves in before the computer blocks you.

Re: What games are you playing?

Well, I've only played about half of the remakes or new ones they've done (I & II, Oath, and Origin), so this is my first one in the new style (VII, Celecta, and VIII) here. Definitely liking it even if I'm not used to having a party. Thanks to the main character always being more about adventure th...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

There is no visual tell for this boss, as far as I know. You just have to eventually figure it out. As I recall, the rules are: Hit the button 3 times and he'll put away his socks. He'll put them back up if you: (a) run out of time, (b) fall out of the ship, or (c) hit the button again. That's corr...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

I like pinball because the thing's bouncing all over the place at fast speeds and is a game of reflexes for the most part. You're constantly focused while the action's going on, and if you aren't, you'll probably lose. I made it past The Machine once and only once. Never cleared the fourth stage, an...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

I think I made it past the next board a few times, but that was usually the best I could do. Game is very tough at times. I think you can hold the flipper button down to keep it permanently raised, basically making it a brake for Sonic if you need to gather yourself . Then again, it's been so long s...

Re: What games are you playing?

Started up Ys VIII on the Switch last night. Definitely a different experience from the older styles of gameplay I'm used to from the series, but it's still fun, and that's all that really matters.

Re: Donkey Kong Country 2 -- A Mysterious Attack

The main reason why I don't like Glimmer's Galleon is because for some reason the devs felt the need to blind the player every time they turn around. Without that, the level would be basically fine, since the darkness doesn't really obscure that much of the level. They did the same thing with Squaw...

Re: All The S@nics - Chaos - LEATHER, LACE, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!

I'm not sure why you weren't allowed to go to the special stage, but collecting 100 rings is intentionally meant to be an automatic stage clear.

Re: What games are you playing?

The PS1 Spider-Man game is god-tier; gonna play the new one soon, hope it stacks up! It definitely did a better job on traversing areas. Spidey's movements are very fluid and eventually effortless to pull off. Combat is a mixed bag since I think they go a bit overkill on fighting groups at times, b...

Re: All The S@nics - SegaSonic the Hedgehog - Watch out! You're gonna crash! Ahh!

I've been very surprised to see a Sonic game with 3D movement have iffy controls at times... Okay, I just wanted to say that one now. Uh yeah, this one's on not having the right kind of controller for it more than the game itself. It happens. Glad it's almost near the end at least!

Re: What games are you playing?

Getting around to Marvel's Spider-Man. Seems to be a 3D collectathon with chase sequences and group battles for the most part. It's fun enough, but I still think my favorite's going to be the first PS1 game when it's all said and done. I do like how fast you can swing around the city though.

Re: What games are you playing?

Actually brought out the 3DS again and went through River City: Rival Showdown, a remake of the original River City Ransom. It was all right, but you definitely need a guide to get the best ending. Even with one, I think I just got the normal one since there's also a time limit deal going on here, a...

Re: All The S@nics - SegaSonic the Hedgehog - Watch out! You're gonna crash! Ahh!

This game looks like it would be a little more fun if the trackball thing worked better with the emulator here. I've seen a playthrough of it before, but it was so long ago that I barely remember it.

Went through that one back in the spring. It takes a short bit to get going, but once it does, it's on. Really enjoyed that game.

Haven't had time to start Three Houses yet, so my Fire Emblem time is with Heroes again. Having a pretty good half-year anniversary event going on right now with all these rewards they're handing out like candy.

Oh boy, here we go again. I have not played this game. I was wondering outloud what could be in alt paths. Because I honestly don't know. I full well know raocow has no reason to go back, because the game isn't telling him too. I don't expect him to listen to me. It wasn't even a 'hey you should go...

Re: All The S@nics - Annual EVO Break #1 - SEE YOU NEXT GAME

Yeah, you said the same thing about this game I did. There's literally no reason to go to the future outside of the third level in each area. Give me something to do there or it comes off as pointless, and it is. While we're on that subject, there's also nothing gameplay related to be gained by dest...

Re: What games are you playing?

Maybe. I think the main reason this game was made was just because Nintendo footed the bill, just like they did with Bayonetta.
