hey, don't colour your opinion just by the fact that certain talkhaus users appear to be magnetically attracting drama wherever they go.
On an unrelated note: Chillout, 408 Demos. Going surprisingly smoothly all things considered.

Re: *sort of spoil* Some VIP5.
*sigh* why do I have to be terrible at making overworlds. D: Man, those are nice. I mean, my ever-critical self keeps finding little errors in shading and other inconsistencies but man that grassy overworld looks really nice nonetheless. Loving the crayon-esque look of it, and the perspective is wo...

Re: Twitter: The Thread
Surprisingly enough, most of the game still works well enough this way, and as I said, whenever it doesn't, I can still cheat and add an extra savestate at the start of each room or so. Also, I really have to learn to keep doing something even when I find it difficult or frustrating, and video game...

Re: Twitter: The Thread
So I've started playing ASMT (yay, finally!) and I've noticed that I haven't played anything SMW-related in... Four years I think. This little fact quickly went to show that I am, in fact, absolutely horrible at that game. I played through the first world with some pretty great rewind/savestate abu...

Re: Stage Props List
I definitely think the treasure should be something each level designer makes for their own level. If they can't think of anything, they could always ask the forum for ideas. As for costumes, I'd say we should keep them at a minimum if just to minimise our workload. No more than ten, I'd say - if t...

Re: Kirby's Dream Land 3
Most (I think all, actually) of the walkthroughs I read claimed that Pitch is overall the best helper, ability-wise. I personally still preferred using the owl or the cat, though. It's not like it makes that much of a difference. Although I did only use fishface, Rick and the pink thing when absolu...

Re: A2MT Discussion
Quick someone make sure whether we're going with the costume blocks idea so I'll know whether I should make an SMW-compatible Marisa Just to clarify, would those just be a cosplaying Demo, or actually said characters? Also, on the issue of overworld music, would it be possible to have an identical ...

Re: A2MT Level ideas
a level based off of the House of Leaves would be interesting for nevada's castle (if she's still a plant boss) it would start off being a relatively normal plant level (but a maze) and progressively get weirder and glitchier until you get to the boss fight. I'm fairly sure SMW doesn't support none...

Re: raocow LP on a JAPENNEEEESEEEE site..
Wasn't Pyua the guy who made the game? If I remember correctly, this shouldn't be too surprising then. Although I do hope that it'll mean that more Japanese people hear of raocow because by extension they might find out about ASMT, and I'd be interested what the general reactions from there would b...

Wouldn't it be possible to bypass the eerie-over-spike-corridor by abusing that little glitch in SMW where you can go through slopes (i.e. the ladders) when they're at the top edge of the wall?

Well, duh, I suppose. ._.
I just was wondering where the fundamental difference in quality lies. Or is this just a statistical thing à la "most western hacks I know are terrible, most eastern ones I know aren't"?

Re: smwcentral madness: Vanilla 2010
Okay, this is somewhat off topic, but now I'm kind of curious. What defines "western" and "japanese" hacks, exactly? There seems to be something of a distinction, but I never really caught on. The only thing I could tell from watching raocow videos was that western hacks seemed ...

A2MT Level ideas
Tails: For future reference, the A2MT Levels Page Feel free to ask people for inspiration on level ideas here! Man, I can practically feel how impatient people are to start things up. Can't blame them, I can barely wait myself. ^^" So since people have started pitching ideas for individual lev...

Voting for the final boss to appear as the cat planet cat, then instantly turn into something else completely random that has bugger all to do with raocow, like Dimensional Traveler Sorceror Stalin or something.
Because honestly, screw you guys.
No idea where I'm going with this, no sir

Re: A2MT Discussion
If we're still doing the "one treasure per level" thing, I suggest just doing away with the dragon coins entirely as well. Because honestly, who even bothers collecting those? But yeah, a powerup for every 100 coins collected sounds reasonable enough. Maybe it could appear inside the rese...

Re: A2MT Plot thread
Oh. I have absolutely no idea how I missed that - I was sure Yoshi went into his ground tongue using pose even in the air. Oh well, guess I'll have to make an open moth one after all. Even so, would it be possible to change Yoshi so that he uses the raised head tile rather than the open mouth one i...

Re: A2MT Plot thread
I decided to just copy the jumping pose head for the "open mouth" one because I don't like how Yoshi keeps yapping when you're not sitting on him. All poses that use that head work normal enough with this aside from the "eating a berry" animation, and honestly, who uses berries ...

Re: A2MT Plot thread
Woah looking really good. Does your suggested new palette support your Demo's original palette? Because that would be neat. The palettes I suggested in the other thread were 9-D, so obviously palette 8 can still be whatever. How do people feel about having sets of enemies for each world/biome? I de...

Wow, we got from superbad to merely average after just three levels? I think that's a record!
Calling the next 20 or 30 levels to be nearly exactly the same as this one.

Man the video quality has decreased quite a bit, is is SNES9X' fault? But yeah the... Unfortunate positioning of buddies in parts is just hilarious. Also, paste: Basically, you press some button to jump. Depending on which part of the animation Kirby's at right now, you jump further or, well, less ...

Yay finished sprite sheet The little one is just too cute. I call her Scamps. So yeah, I made a GFX file for ol' kitty there, and she works pretty well in SMW, even looking remarkably non-terrible with the standard palette. I'd make a video or something but ho...

So yeah I had this level idea type sort of thing but I'm not sure whether it would work so here's two questions on the matter: - So I believe it is possible to make Layer 2 semi-transparent. Is it possible to have a sprite or block change the opacity of Layer 2? For instance, have a block that make...

These comments are great. Just too bad there weren't any "STOP PLAYING YOU STUPID RETARD" ones yet because those are seriously the best. However, I just cannot decipher this one: I think the phrase man up raocow ! comes into play here you aren't half negative about amateurs making levels...
