Re: Sonic the Threadgehog
Sega already announced at Comic-Con that they're giving the license for Sonic comics to IDW now (that's the company that currently publishes comics for Transformers, G.I Joe, Ninja Turtles, and My LIttle Pony among other such licensed properties, for anyone who doesn't know).

Re: Level Contest Japan - spike zone hell
And yeah, screw this level author. They're both being insultingly condescending and bragging about how they, the level creator who knows exactly what is expected every single step of the way, are "quite consistent" at their own level as if that has any merit whatsoever. Honestly at this p...

Re: Level Contest Japan - spike zone hell
My favorite part is how somehow the boss fucked up the life counter so every death against her counted as two deaths How does that even happen? Makes the death counter utterly useless since now we don't know how many times raocow has actually died. Not that it meant much anymore anyways since like ...

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where The Police Are After Us
The collectibles and secrets (and wall-climbing) were kind of the big things that made the X games stand out from the classic Mega Man games, and if they aren't kinda esoteric then they aren't really secrets.

Re: Level Contest Japan - spike zone hell
raocow went into this level with 298 deaths, and is now at 3098 3/4 of the way through. His death count has multiplied by 10. Jesus. At least the checkpoints for section 3 reduced the agony a bit. I was digging through the level folder earlier and found a little comment in a file called __ForPlayers...

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where The Police Are After Us
Man, I can only imagine if raocow ever decides to do the PS1 trilogy. X6 is the one game in the series where almost all of the Maverick names got through completely unscathed (probably because of backlash over the Guns n' Roses thing they did with X5?).

Re: Level Contest Japan - spike zone hell
At least ContentID mostly just restricts monetization of the video (unless you happen to live in a region where the rights holder decided to completely restrict viewing). I mean that still sucks for raocow since he actually makes a living doing this stuff now, but the video still exists and it's not...

Congratulations to raocow for beating that level without cheating.
Congratulations to Horikawa for murdering raocow 85 times and making him stare at Shin-chan's ass all the while.

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where raocow is even more overpowered now
I can't confirm anything behind the scenes or in the Japanese version, but I'll just say that Zero is complicated. This game presents the first tiny sparks of his backstory, but that backstory isn't going to come at us full throttle until X4, which I'm sure raocow won't be playing anytime soon. It ...

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where raocow is even more overpowered now
"Zero... Do you remember me?" "Yeah...I guess so... Sorry to cause you so much trouble." *conversation proceeds as if Zero understands everything completely* Something about Zero's response to a question like "Do you remember me?" being "Yeah...I guess so..." ...

Re: Level Contest Japan - finally a level about japan
Well that level was cute (and more comprehensible than the text boxes in Luigi's Adventure OSE).

Re: Level Contest Japan - this can't be right
It took me longer than it probably should have to realize that the blocks turning on/off was tied to what direction Mario was facing. Cool level, though.

Re: Level Contest Japan - this is mario?
Sure was a lot of plucking bombs out of the ground to open the way forward in today's level. I think the level would've benefited from only having one "here's a giant rock that you have to use 3 or 4 bombs to clear a path through" sections, instead of multiple.

The Eternal Card Game: Magic the Gathering meets Hearthstone
So, Eternal is a free-to-play collectible card game for PC and mobile devices by Dire Wolf Digital that I really like. As is hopefully conveyed by the thread title, the simplest way to describe the game would be that it's pretty much Magic: the Gathering with Hearthstone-esque visual presentation. I...

31 episodes to beat OSE without savestates versus 43 to beat the original version with savestates. Not bad.

Re: 10 years somehow
I've technically been watching raocow videos since way back when he first posted his The Second Reality Project 1 LP on SomethingAwful. Back in the good old days before Youtube became a decent video hosting site and videos were hosted pretty much everywhere but (Google Video, Dailymotion, Vimeo, Gam...

Re: Lᴜɪɢɪ's Aᴅᴠᴇɴᴛᴜʀᴇ
Well, it took 25 episodes, but there's the first one-level video of the series. Gonna guess the next one probably will be too just by virtue of having an endgame red level.

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where DASHING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?
Reason to get the arm upgrade before going to the Sigma stages: Charged Rolling Shield completely trivializes the enemies in that bit at the beginning where you have to climb all those tiny moving platforms.

Since raocow's currently doing a more proper run of Mega Man X and planning on X2 and X3 at some point, I figure I might as well point out that this game exists: Behold, Mega Man X: Roguelite Edition (also known as 20XX): http://store.steampowered.com/app/322110/20XX/ Game is currently in Early Acce...

Re: Obscure "Mega Man X" Game Where raocow Gets No Upgrades
If I'm remembering correctly, Maverick Hunter X changed Boomer Kuwanger's English name to Boomerang Kuwanger.
It also definitely changed Horming Torpedo to Homing Torpedo.

Re: Lᴜɪɢɪ's Aᴅᴠᴇɴᴛᴜʀᴇ
The fact raocow is playing without savestates (unlike the original Luigi's Adventure LP) and we're still getting three level videos this late in the game is, I think, a testament to both how much easier/more fair OSE is compared to the original, and how much raocow's SMW skills have improved since, ...
