Re: Super Meat Boy - spikes deter pigeons and increase the difficulty
I Wanna Be The Guy's appeal is the trickery elements of it, and it does have a lot of that. A lot of segmenrs are made to look deceptively easy, or "hard enough", until you trigger some sort of trap. Then the goal turns into not getting killed by the trap. Unfortunately, a lot of segments ...

Re: Super Meat Boy - eyes and mouths can be combined to form a face. where's the noses and ears?
I'll admit that Little Horn isn't a good boss. But the pattern is short enough that you're done pretty quickly, so he's not my least favorite boss (Though I imagine him being hell for speedruns).
And I really like the cutscene beforehand, where it shows that Meatboy dying a million times is canon.

Re: Super Meat Boy - Pulverizing beams are in the eye of the beholder
Fun Fact: "Weibe" is named after Steve Weibe, from the Donkey Kong documentary The King of Kong. I'm guessing the name refers to the fact that the setup of the level vaguely resembles Donkey Kong

Re: Super Meat Boy - even unrotten meat can go to hell
I wonder if raocow will ever play Time Fcuk. Even with the name it is probably Edmund's standout game. Very interesting and a great puzzle-platformer. Thankfully nothing as stressful as MariAri, but pretty great. Even if it is a tad morbid with some of its humor. Plus I love the weird music. I coul...

Re: Super Meat Boy - Salt is a valuable good that requires strong factory defenses
nah, I'm always like that, kind of how I don't use boss master weapons during the eight first stages in megaman. I want to experience the level design as 'purely' as possible, and I'm aware that makes me sound like a grade-A lameoid. If it makes you feel any better, it was the easiest for me to use...

Re: SMBX: SMBX Japan; Horikawa lives there!
The reversed music was a really nice touch actually. It's just too bad that with the way SMBX works, the goal music couldn't have been reversed as well.

Re: Super Meat Boy - High jumps and low hygiene standards
Welcome to Salt Factory, which has one of my favorite music tracks in the game! It's also the place where the difficulty ramps way up, and it's both the last world where I finished all the dark world levels AND decided I wasn't getting all the bandages.

Re: Super Meat Boy - Would've expected a hospital to be more accomodating to skinless people
In my experience, going for ALL the dark world levels is a fool's errand. Having said that, I'd like to see raocow play through the forest one at least.

Re: Super Meat Boy - Successful troubleshooting, accidental overshooting
Seeing as we're on the topic of areas of the game that totally blocked progress: I never got past the first level of The Kid's warpzone; honestly, just having it be filled with spikes didn't really feel in spirit with a game that had far more interesting ways of killing you. You haven't played the ...

Re: Parodius DA! - Game Grumps never played past this stage that's an accomplishment
I think there's something to be said about making winning a game an accomplishment, while also not being frustrating and making the player not want to continue. For example: a lot of old NES platformers just kicked you back the the beginning of a game when you ran out of lives. Replaying the entiret...

Re: Parodius DA! - Carnival Night, USA
The revamped death thing is actually my preffered one. In normal Gradius games the worst thing is getting stuck in a bad checkpoint. (The GBA Gradius is very notable for that. The flesh level has one where recovering from it is one of the hardest challenges in the game... On the other hand you can ...

Re: Achilles of the Might - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind
Galamoth. Hoo boy. I remember the first time I fought him. My health had gone into double digits when I somehow found myself on the ledge in the upper right corner, and he just would not turn to attack me. I then managed to chip away at his insane amount of health until he died. I have never gotten ...

Re: Towering of the Wright - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind
The inverted castle just dumps powerups at you, to an insane degree. here's a stat boosting accesory, here's an armor with 3 elemental resists, here's a helmet that lowers enemy defence and raises attack . You like swords right? Have Twenty! You need more statboosts, so top it off with some relics!...

Re: Possession of the Byte - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind
Luckily, SotN and HoD are the only Castlevanias with weird experience scaling. It's much easier to max your level in the others. That probably sounds strange, but the way experience works in SotN is that each enemy has a base EXP they give and this amount gets lowered for every level you are above ...

Re: Brynphony of the Pight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind
So in case you didn't notice, raocow, Alucard's version of the cross consumes a whopping 100 hearts every time you use it. You may want to switch subweapons. Also, It has Jesus hanging on it. Which was either absent in the XBLA version, or absent from Richter's Item Crash. I should probably watch t...

Re: Brynphony of the Pight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind
So, fun fact about the XBLA version of SOTN: It doesn't have FMVs. So until today, I had no actual idea the inverted casrles was just in the sky right above the normal one. I guess I should've in retrospect, but seeing it like that, I agree with raocow: It looks really dumb.

Re: Exploring of the Right - Castlevania SoN (PSP version) Blind
In Today's episode, raocow picks up my favorite weapon in the game: The Holy Bible! For some reason it's hilarious to me that that's how you attack with it. Also, I know what you're experiencing with the side paths frequently saying YOU SHALL NOT PASS is directly counter to when most of us were sayi...

Re: And now for something completely different [Something Else]
I know I'm not alone in this, but I love raocow's naming conventions for videos. Sometimes it's something obvious and it makes you go "Oh, that's neat." But other times it's maybe less obvious, and sometimes really creative. I think one of my favorites was the one for Romancing Mario.

The best part about the world 3 cutscene for me was that I had never seen the wart replacement. So hearing King Frog Bandito start quacking just made me giggle.

Re: A2XT: World 2 is Forest World
Koopa Time I think was one of the first levels submitted. Probably still could've used a bit more work to be honest. Felt way to spammy. I don't think there's anything wrong with the fundamentals, just needs to be refined more. I always thought Omelet Jungle was way too short to be honest. While Po...

Re: A Second Mario Bros X Thing: analog funk V1.0
And I have 100 percented A2XT, clocking in at 869 demos. Although the number is actually higher, since there were times I quit out of level without saving. So let;s call it an even 900. So, what did I think? Well, in ASMBXT, I quit halfway through world 6. In this game, I never once felt like giving...
