Well, ultimately, I was the only one who seemed to give enough feedback for Zaquaa to gauge his level from an outside perspective during testing (I think?), and then we entrusted that he'd fix things. Either way, Munchy Plant Ruins is probably my favourite level* in the whole hack.

And it only gets crazier from here on.
* standalone level, that is; the finale is my favourite part of the game overall

By the way, it's kinda funny how there is a message that there was the last water place for a long time and the next level is a water level. Gotta love continuity errors. Yeah, that's kind of amusing, but I think the message box was more intended to tip you off that the water in the mirage segment ...

HOT! HOT! DESERT! is one of my favourite levels in the hack, actually. The whole use of mirages and the background (layer 2?) shenanigans made incredibly unique, and it was a really nicely designed level on top of that.

Not gonna spoil anything, but he reason there isn't that much directly plot related stuff is because not everyone likes it and this is some kind of compromise. Well, yeah. I think what was almost more needed was a checklist to ensure that all the stages -did- get tested to all exits. I know that there was a couple secret exits I just could not find when testing, so I ended up just skipping over them; this was one of them (I am not a fan of puzzle levels, admittedly); ...

The slipperiness. Notice that at the beginning, raocow comments that the slipperiness is gone. However, by the end of either route, he's sliding all over the place.

I remember really enjoying playing this level. It's challenging, but in a really really fair way.

If ASMT2 was like this in difficulty I'd be all over it.
