Tbh, it sort of sounds like a mess compared to other stuff I've heard from you CD. I don't really get any sort of flow from it, and I guess that just kills it for me.
...of course, that's just my opinion. Others may like it.

Re: Contemplating the conceptuary
kilon pretty much hit the nail on the head here. I mean, A2MT started up before ASMT was even released. Seriously, most people don't want to go straight from busting their chops on one hack to doing the same thing with another hack (which is apparently supposed to be even better/more sophisticated)....

Re: Contemplating the conceptuary
The way I do it with SMWCP is as follows: -People sign up for stuff (whether it's blocks, sprites, map16, whatever) and provide a link. -I add them to the base ROM once every two days, and update it. -The only thing I provide with the base ROM ZIP is the IPS, and a couple of misc. files. No music, n...

Re: Contemplating the conceptuary
Having not read this thread fully, I'll just state my own views on the project right now, which may or may not differ from others' views. When I heard A2MT was starting up, I was intrigued. I thought it would be very interesting to see a sequel sprout from ASMT. It seemed to start off rather calmly,...

Re: Talkhaus, TLs4 needs your help!
Huh? I have no idea why Zeldara decided to add those red coins to the intro - I didn't include them when I made it. To answer the question: no. The intro level has no effect at all on 100%ing the game. e: also I gotta say, I like TLs4's style of LPing here. It's similar to raocow's, but quite a bit ...

Re: Talkhaus, TLs4 needs your help!
It took me a good two years straight to finish making KR, and yes. You get used to using squares to build the levels after a while, but it really makes you realize just how fortunate we are to have editors like Lunar Magic. One incorrect parameter in EggVine = death to the entire ROM. You'd better k...

Re: Talkhaus, TLs4 needs your help!
on topic: Most YI hacks are designed to be played on a specific ROM version (in this case, which was already mentioned in your video, (U) V1.0. I believe the SMW2+ series is the same way as well - I guess it's just how EggVine handles the ROM ... though the fact that the regular YI doesn't work eith...

Re: Porting Tool for MIDI to MML
A couple people at SMWC made various "half" tools for this (as in, tools that could loop and fix octaves, but do nothing else). It would be interesting to see a tool which can do a bit of everything, but I'm afraid to say that the most it would be able to accomplish is basic channel inform...

Re: A thing About music
Like what? I'm not aware of anything atm, and I would like to know. Then you should do some research before going all "herpa derpa" and shit as you did previously. Romi's addmusic, when used with Carol's MORE.bin allows for very easy sample access from slots 13-3F. People also tend to fin...

Re: ASMT on TVTropes
Doesn't even really feel like a TVTropes article to me. Most ones I've read actually interest me due to the fact that people explain how the trope is executed in a unique way .. but this one is just dull. It's "Trope -> Level Name/Character". That, and echoing what has been said earlier, n...

You know, this one of my personal favorites in the contest. I don't know if it was the dialogue or the concept or what, but something about it was really .. fun.
(but yeah I do agree that the difficulty was pretty all over the place.)

You need to patch MORE.asm yourself either manually, or using the -se command. It doesn't automatically patch it for you.

Re: smwcentral madness: Vanilla 2010
What is kind of sad is that this is the only part of his level design that many people try to copy when SMW Hacks 101 had many more brilliant ideas. FYI, people have been doing the "wacky landscapes" long, -long- before Hacks 101 even brought it up. They've even been doing it well too - i...

Re: Custom music thread 2.0
Personally, the only reason I did a composition early is because it's now or never for me. I'll be ridiculously busy in the upcoming months, and I wanted to get some small part in this collab, even if it was just a map theme. I safely assumed an ice world would be one of them, and if not, it can pro...

Re: smwcentral madness: Vanilla 2010
I just wish people knew how to make longer levels out of smaller concepts. raocow made a rather interesting point in his video - it's really hard to find a solid middle ground. People either cram too much in a level (mariocool1999) or too little (that topsail level from a while back).
Eh.

Re: A message to newcomers to the 'asmt' project
any manager knows that all giving a later deadline does, for the most part, is make people start later. Some people actually take more than two weeks to make a level though (especially if they're making everything themselves). That, and it's very easy for people to lose motivation or inspiration du...

Re: Custom music thread 2.0
I think I still prefer the original world 2 theme over your variation, but it's still a nice one regardless. As for the fast-paced one .. I left my comments on YT, but I'll drop them here as well. It's a good change of pace from your slower stuff that most of us are used to - fix up that middle port...

@raocow: Yeah, that's all you need to do (unless you have some INIT code, which it looks like you don't). After that, it's simply a matter of one of the head guys patching it to the base ROM (unless you plan to do it yourself for testing purposes).

Re: Custom music thread 2.0
If you're considering porting AUS stuff, keep in mind that two of them have already been ported rather well by Ersanio over at SMWC (Mist (Mountside) and In the Dark (DarkGrotto)), and can be found in the music section there. Just saving you the trouble of porting two of them, at least. Afaik, the r...

Re: Custom music thread 2.0
Thanks for the comments. Since the themes from the original were rather soothing, for the most part, I kind of wanted to keep it in that style. Guess it all ended well! I do hope we'll see a large variety of composers doing stuff for this. Even if I end up not doing any other tracks, I'd love to hea...
