Re: Talkhaus 3000 update
Until the recent update, how would I know the post's in the news thread? It would just be a red global domination circle. And even if there was a post in the news thread, all it takes is a more recent post in the skype or irc threads and I wouldn't know about it.

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
What you're saying is true enough on the lives part of things but even with an unlimited supply of lives if a level is too difficult for you to finish it's too difficult for you to finish. I disagree with this entirely. If you're given an infinite number of tries, you can beat anything, since you'l...

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
Couldn't you just pause the game and put your computer to sleep? It doesn't crash SMBX. I played the game in two sessions that way. Granted, I play on a laptop, but it's still something to consider.

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
Because it is entirely an issue of difficulty. If you could save at the start of every world, a 5-year old kid could beat the game (assuming they can't already). It removes everything challenging about the game, because the answer to "can I do something if I'm given as many tries as I want in a...

It's a subtle reminder that playing as Sonic is a slippery slope that ends in drawing yourself as a hedgehog, and you need to stop now.swirlybomb wrote:realtalk:
Played Classic on 8.5 with Sonic yesterday, received the exact same custom special (Side 2/Burning Spin Dash) FIVE times on that single run.

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
but I suppose it's better for people to just play it themselves in the first place~ I'd go back and finish it if you could save your progress. I understand it's supposed to be based on SMB1 but having no saves was a bad design decision even if it's fairly short. And it's an even worse decision when...

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
Since the game doesn't have a music code, here's the music list (will be updated as raocow encounters new tracks): Title Screen & Hub : " I'll Just Be There" by Maiku Wotaharu FIFY Duly fixed. Looks like A2XT shipped it with a wrong ID3 tag, which wouldn't be the first time it's done ...

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
spoiler it took just under an hour to get all the footage, which just so happens to coincide with the extra hour I had today thanks to the daylight saving change thing going on. Wow you must have speedran the crap out of the entire rest of the game if you beat normal mode hard mode and the challeng...

Re: This is Not the Greatest Game in the World, No, This is Just a Tribute
I stand by that, unless you have it all in the can beforehand and ready to go, especially since you can end up with a whole bunch of unusable footage if you game over. I just didn't expect raocow to do that as it would take longer than his usual recording time and I assume that he didn't game over.

Re: Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U: WARNING! 50+ FACTS APPROACHING!
To clarify, I do put thought into dodging attacks when I'm on the defensive, and maybe the occasional trap if items are own, but I've never thought about zoning or anything that deep. Also, for Little Mac, I've noticed that pretty much the entire stock swings on who gets the first hit. My experience...

Re: Twitter Thread
Tension-building would probably be the best description. Countdown to Death, for example, has a melody that moves up and down in semitones, which is an easy way to get tension going, and gets transposed completely by a semitone, which is another way to do it. It basically ticks all the boxes of how ...

I guess I'm going to play Doom today. One of my jerkoff friends was talking about scary songs then brought up Doom which resulted in me just listening to most of the Doom and Doom II soundtracks and now I really feel like playing them. The soundtracks are easily one of my favorite parts of those ga...

Re: Last movie you watched?
I re-watched Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. It's both gayer (before I set you off, I don't mean that pejoratively, I mean there's gay subtext throughout) and more confusing than I remembered, but when it works (which isn't often) it works very well. It's still leagues better than Final...

but it's not like asmbxt/2 where each level is all "look at me! What an experience!" where they know they're gonna end up in an LP. I'm not meaning to throw shit at the smbx community here, but shouldn't every level in every game try to be memorable? I know I didn't try and make my A2XT l...

Re: Idea's and a question of sorts...
I somehow really, really doubt somebody at Nintendo made the Captain Toad game because they just figured he was the right character for the job, after all. If it weren't made specifically for him, they'd probably just make a new IP. Ignoring where the idea for the game in the first place came from ...

this is kind of off-topic, but I know the smbx forum have these seasonal contests, but did they ever do a downright community game like talking time bros or something ?
