Re: a serious question for y'all

right now, patreon + my usual add money more or less equals the salery I used to make after tax. Like that was my secret hope but I never expected to reach that so quick. Mind you, as spitz said there might be a drop-off the month after, I don't know, but hey! There will be a dropoff, but you will ...

Re: Possession of the Byte - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

to just point how absurd the difficulty/stat system is: enemy list has richter and maria, who the player had to defeat to reach the inverted castle, level 45 and 46 repectfully. The first boss raocow fought in the inverted castle is 38, and all the others so far have hovered around 40. That random f...

Re: Possession of the Byte - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

The game doesnt explain how peanuts work: alucard tosses one in the air, and you have to hold up right before it hits alucard to eat it. raocow I got a request: If you ever decide to start watching boss tactics, watch Akmodan II's boss tactics at the Library. You can use a library card after using a...

Re: Progeny of the Knight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

How quickly Medusa died even to a poisoned Alucard makes me assume her shield was meant to block attacks. The battle might've been harder without the other Medusa Shield, though - it prevents petrification, which at least her gaze would have inflicted. her sheild does block attacks, but not a very ...

Re: Progeny of the Knight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

Getting people constantly telling you where to go, only for your own random stumbling giving you gamebreaking items (medusa sheild) is the authentic sotn experience. Though i guess you can't break whats already broken seeing as it decides the solution to everything dealing 1 damage is to give you ev...

Re: Brynphony of the Pight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

how dare you make fun of the inverted castle, those are sacred grounds you're walking on No im pretty sure its sacred ceilings we're walking on now. Inverted castle is actually pretty fun, and roacow should not need any help with anything for the rest of the game. To answer his question in the vide...

Re: Mockery of the Fright - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

The Venusweed is a neat enemy, it starts out as a white rose, which turns red after feeding on blood from an attack. Castlevania's devs must really like this visual imagery, because they also use it in the promo art for this game (dracula has a crimson cape literally dripping with blood, while Aluca...

Re: Foreshadowing of the Sprite - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

man, this kinda didn't last very long as a blind run did it? I feel partly responsible, just trying to list off random facts and later just straight up giving advice.

Either way, seeing raocow's reactions to things like gatling gun dog was worth it.

Re: The 2014th Smoo Central Vanilla Contest

There's almost something to be admired in how dedicated they are and how much they enjoy making levels, if they can voluntarily keep making more of the same level without getting sick of it and stopping. or maybe he just had trouble with map editing and made all of world 4 in his romhack a single le...

Re: Venturing of the Blight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

Ah yes, the Big Ball of Bodies, something that's a bit of a staple of the metroidvania castlevanias. The exact size of the ball changes from game to game, but there's usually lasers involved. Harmony of Dissonance, ever the overachiever, went and threw in a second one made of skeletons. As other pe...

Re: Venturing of the Blight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

^^nope, only gemstone rings can be sold. The gravity boots are for not taking forever to ascend, and not needing mp to do so, with the combo input being simple. So of course, the game doesn't tell you how to even use one of the Basic Game Mechanics it gives you(and no its not in the manual either). ...

Re: Venturing of the Blight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

I understand why everyone's trying to help raocow find obscure secrets and such, but I agree that they're going overboard, and it all really defeats the point of a "blind run". raocow doesn't usually do 100% runs of these types of games, and if he really wanted to show off all manner of o...

Re: Venturing of the Blight - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

Re: Mystery of the Might - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

Hey now, it was not unfun. It has no place as a Castlevania game, but it's not unfun. With 90% of the game being directly copied from SotN, and the remaining 10% transplanted mechanics from classic Castlevania, I'm not sure how much more Castlevania something could possibly be. It is peak Castlevan...

Re: Mystery of the Might - Castlevania SotN (PSP version) Blind

Welcome to the smooth jazz Colosseum, enjoy your stay. Since you cant swing your sword at the same time like you can with ...

Something that dies and comes back constantly or is on fire all the time would fit in a horror superstition.

Kinda dissapointed seija isnt playable, but tiniest touhou is 2nd best option.
