long post man this just sorta highlights my biggest problem with the writing of this game: shit ending up not being as big of a deal as it was originally introduced to be. that goes directly against the rule of increasing conflict and pacing, making the drama feel cheap and victories feel unearned....

Honestly I too would have liked to see a different ending, but I don't consider this one downright bad. It's pretty much a "Hex wins" ending in my eyes moreso than a "trying to be deep" ending. The bad guy was smarter than them. The problem is that "Hex wins" is kinda ...

true ending: you beat the warmaster and then shut the game off. uncommanded, the warship just kinda flies around doing nothing for all eternity. the end.

actually legit yeah thinking about it it would have been like 100 times better if the warmaster had a last second heel face turn and stayed behind to unoverload the reactors or some shit half because "from the start, my goal has been to protect bots. no one wins if these overload" and half...
