Re: List of Global Graphic Changes (in progress) + Voting
Hmm... shift them a little lower on the donut, and maybe make them slightly bigger? (Sorry for being particular-ish, I'm just trying to reconcile it with the mental picture I had.)

Wow, I just played some MegaMan X2 to check. Good eye, raocow. It is somewhat altered from the original background, but it's definitely Flame Stag.raocow wrote:The background for Cactus Hill, am I right in saying it's from Flame Stag's stage (megamanx2)

Oh yeah! Forgot about that guy. ... Now I'm torn. Did you ever take my suggestion to add eyes to him, off to the side (styled like the clouds and hills have)?Machoman wrote:what about my donut pokey?

If we start revoting on the Pokey, you know where my vote's going. (The Evil Eye Pokey. The traffic lights still look too awkward/out of place to me...)

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Collab Hack
@rubberfishy - I dunno... I think that's making things way more complicated than they need to be. Not to mention, I think people playing the game are either going to only go through one "normal" sized path or go back and do all of them. Even if they want to do all of them, though, I don't ...
Re: Credits
I'm inclined to agree with Kilon, as far as the credits. We'll have plenty of joking and such in the game itself. We shouldn't need joke credits. (What would they even say? We're not Monty Python, after all.) I think the credits should just be for everyone who was involved in the making of the game.

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Collab Hack
Eh, I don't know about having a big "main" path. With the return pipe for those that want it, it seems like a waste of effort to make one that sends you through all of the created rooms anyways. Especially since there's going to (very likely) be many rooms. It'd be better to just have 4, 5...

Hmm... I'm kinda sure you were never asked this. What do you think of the SNES Donkey Kong Country games? Which one do you like most (if any)?

Well, my sentiments behind it were more for clearing up "the rest" itself rather than abolishing post counts, but... what can you do, I guess.

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Collab Hack
I guess I'd support the first map in Argumentable's post (multiple set paths). It makes it easy to keep tabs on which levels you've already gone through, if you care, but makes it so that those who don't care can choose a path of 3 or 4 levels and go through. We can put a return pipe (clearly marked...

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Plot and cutscenes
Wow, nice. Thanks, FoD. I'm liking how both the caret brackets and the asterisks translate into SMW text. I'm partial to the caret brackets at this point, but I think either would be nice for Con's dialogue.

I'm gonna call it: "The Charlie Ocean" . The fish and the urchin will be changed to some blob who weares a charlie mask. Heres a video of the urchin, and the hunting fish. LINK I kinda like the Charlie Urchin better than the normal Urchin, but I'm not so sure about the Charlie Rip van Fis...

Re: Super Mario Omega: So we don't have heart attacks from f
I took a look at a trailer Higsby himself made for the game, and it looks pretty rad. Of course there's probably bias, considering it's a creator-made trailer, but it gives me some amount of anticipation for the videos to come.

Re: Super Challenge World - enhancing Mario's interrogation
The slip-up at the start of the video today made me laugh. It looks like Metroid Legacy doesn't wanna give you up, Rao. ;) Also, "well look who's farming!" made me laugh way more than it should have. Today seemed to be a pretty good day.

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Plot and cutscenes
I don't think that the "ILLUSIYELLOW" in the letter GFX file is needed for the hack, so couldn't we just change that into the " or *? (In SMW it was used to make the level names "forest of illusion" and "yellow switch palace" fit into the level name box) Can we do...

Re: The Super Metroid Legacy Discussion thread
It might just be my inexperience when it comes to Super Metroid (or any Metroid, for that matter), but I was actually liking this LP. I know a pretty good amount of people are voicing that they're glad it's over, and looking at how annoyed/disappointed raocow was getting with it, it's probably a goo...

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Plot and cutscenes
Drat, none of the cool characters (although it's nice to know the ellipsis are a single one). I guess there could be a # at the start of Con's messages, but that looks... eh, to say the least? Maybe it looks better than I'm imagining it. Thanks for clearing up auto-messages, though! So, I guess if t...
Re: Credits
I'd say the level creators' names, even the World 8 Castle room creators' names, can just go in the text file. For the running credits, I'd say we just group names by what they did. Coordinators get their own mentions at the front, and then it runs through. Something like... Project Coordinator Proj...

Re: A Super Mario Thing - Plot and cutscenes
I'd say it looks like you have most everything that I can remember! Let me address those last few numbered points you made. 1) I think you've got a good place for Demo to realize her return device is missing. It brings attention to it early, and more importantly, gives her a really good bit of incen...

I thought everyone knew that the Mushroom Kingdom was set in modern times... Haven't you all seen There Will Be Brawl...? I did, like last week. It's out there, but it's pretty good! Anyways, looking at the shenanigans cropping up just from World 2 and the start of World 3... this hack isn't gonna ...

Let's get things back on track...ish. Anyways, Rao. You said before that you don't own any other pets at the moment besides Gaston. Have you ever had any other pets, even just a family one? Have you ever looked after a friend's or relative's dog/cat/anteater/younger sibling/other for a period of tim...
