Re: DT3 - raocow jumps over lava and shoots a Geemer
Well, I'm not complaining! Certainly helped me trounce a certain boss that'd been stone-walling me.

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps over lava and shoots a Geemer
It just struck me how funny it is that Zephyr managed to make the freaking Sidehoppers among the more dangerous Metroid enemies. Those things are basically cannon fodder in the actual Metroid series. as someone who has played a great many romhacks, sidehoppers (especially the big ones) are actually...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps over lava and shoots a Geemer
...And such it is only now I realize the central area I guess is not-Crateria It's more like the BSL space station from Metroid Fusion, to be honest, which served as the hub area for that game. In fact the whole Gate is set up in a similar environment: BSL had different "Sectors" branchin...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
Holy crap, Sylux actually talks? I thought that was just a statue.
Ah, de-synched Sidehoppers. Truly the most dangerous of Metroid enemies.
Also, I've always wondered what the hell is up with "bubble Norfair". Like, what are the walls and stuff made out of there? How does that make sense?

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
On raocow worrying about not having bombs: this is a Metroid level, Mr. the Cow. And that means... backtracking! Oh boy! :D In that respect Zephyr captured the essence of Metroid very well: there will be so much stuff you can't get to the first time you see it, and you'll have to come back later for...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
Don't know if raocow played that game Someone hasn't seen Metroid Legacy! Actually I have, I just forgot about it until now. raocow plays so many games it's hard to remember them all after a while. That aside, I still think this Gate is more challenging than what some of you are saying, simply beca...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
Oh hell, yes, Metroid Gate! This was easily one of the most fun levels in the game so far. :D raocow, you CAN shoot downward. You just have to be jumping first. This Gate mostly follows Super Metroid gameplay physics. Don't know if raocow played that game (which is the single best Metroid game in ex...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
I agree with raocow: those Stealth Bugs are the worst. At least they're a lot easier to deal with after the next Gate. On an unrelated note: how in the hell do you get all those items scattered about behind ultra-high jumps? I was hoping the Hi-Jump from Metroid land would carry over, but NOPE! This...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
There's a Nightmare Vault. Because of course there is. :? Also, how did I miss that the Abomination is basically an amalgamation of R-Type enemies? I just really hope that it just borrowed the Bydo's look and not their other characteristics, or else things will be getting dark REALLY fast. As awesom...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
oh man an area that should not be played with a keyboard I played through the entirety of DT1 and 2 with a keyboard. Once you get used to it, it's totally doable. Using a gamepad for 3 though. I don't know if it's true, but 3 feels like it requires more precision. Also, the people on this board are...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
@lostsoldier's spoiler a ways up there:
Hold on a sec, the Darkness has been completely eliminated? When did that happen? I thought it was just incapacitated by the Virus. Besides, wasn't it a plot point in the first game that the Darkness being destroyed would end the world?

Re: DT3 - raocow against Hex, or Hexor
I observed during the course of the development that the use of the name "Hexor" has been decreasing, and also the game eventually stops referring to the program as "the Darkness" . I wonder why. I think Hexor - I see it as an a portmanteau of "hex" and "xor"...

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
Oh goody... the color pulses are back (can't call them color wheels anymore). :(
Good news is that Chao's also back! Hooray!
And now we have confirmation, I guess, that Hex actually has a physical body. This'll be interesting.

So Hex didn't create the Virus... "someone who was once greater than I"... maybe the Engineer? Or someone else we don't know about?

Re: DT3 - raocow jumps on bubbles
Well, the game took a turn. I didn't expect them to actually go INTO the Vault this early in the story. And damn, Hexor is angry. And not the exploitable, hot anger that makes mistakes. This is cold fury. The kind that just makes someone more dangerous. It still seems there's more stuff going on beh...

Looks like he's looking for a couple of leeks he missed the first time through. Implies he's going to 100% the game, though.
Hasn't quite hit the post-game, but he found Murder Death Place Zone. Next video will cover that, I guess.

Re: DT3 - raocow brings all the robots to the yard
You know, I'd just like to take time to say that I like the change of atmosphere and pace for this area. It's nice and relaxing after Mega Man shenanigans and plot with Sigma.
It's good to put a little break in every now and again.

Re: DT3 - raocow brings all the robots to the yard
I feel like trying to out-DPS bosses in this game is just a bad idea in general.
It may have worked on a few early bosses, but they were... well, early game bosses.

Re: DT3 - raocow finds peace underwater
Also, why do I get the feeling also from the story dialogue that the Virus is something that Jeremy made one day that spiraled out of control? Because the plot's been hinting at that so hard that it's practically impossible for it not to be the case in some fashion? Unless Zephyr's pulling an epic ...

Re: DT3 - raocow arrives in DT land
Damn, fighting Death successfully looks amazing. Just dodge, dodge, dodge everything. His Legion form is almost... hilariously easy by comparison, or at least that's how it seems to me. (I'd love to play this myself, but DT3 really hates my computer (Win 7) for some reason, and runs super-slow no ma...
