I assume the LM1 Wiiware/LM2 graphics aren't drawn by Nigoro? It's rare to see a programmer with that level of artistic aptitude
this is a few days old but the illustration art was done by JUNNY, not Nigoro in-house
I was curious about how many countries there were total. A guide to the PS2 version says 195, which would mean you only missed one. But I don't know if the remake just brought the same map over or if it was updated in any way, what with political boundaries being inherently volatile. I just checked...
Omigosh this is AWESOME! Only flaw is that it can't show the weird trajectories stuff sometimes flies around on. When did you make this, out of curiosity? Any chance that site will include the other Katamari games in the future? Katamari Damacy was added to noclip.website in April 2019 or so, after...
now that raocow has seen all the stages, gonna link this thing i made a bit ago that lets you explore the katamari levels in a browser. click here, i promise it's not a virus
this game has so many tiny secrets and details, i love it so so much
the patch to ship shape actually didn't make it much easier (it cut the task limit by a few and eased the spawn rate a tad), but most of it was psychological. the HUD element used to go to "orange" a lot quicker as a way of building intensity, but most people got stressed and performed wor...
i see you've discovered the wonder that is akupara rift. fyi, this rift wasn't done in-house by the dev team, it was done by an external team because time pressure and other reasons. turns out that a lot of level design lessons you slowly learn over 5 years of making a game are sort of hard to relay...
fyi, you were always meant to fight the winner, that's not a bug. I think the dialogue here is intended to suggest that the award got rescinded after you "blew the cover" on it being rigged, but that's admittedly a bit of a stretch.
fyi, you cannot run up walls after a dive, you have to be "standing upright". doing a dive cancel puts you back into standing upright. i'm quite sure you can climb on those canvas things, you just didn't notice because you were in dive mode the no bonk badge obscures this, because otherwis...
Hey, since we've got at least one dev here, I want to ask: What made you decide against including the ability to go back and read past entries? Personally, I don't mind, but a lot of people dislike permanently-missable content. i wasn't in charge of that one, but knowing the team, making something ...
i can confirm that you can make those two jumps with your current moveset, but you're not expected to. dash cancel is an advanced technique and the base game does not ever require you master it.
it's also a bit funny, because in Murder, if you leave the Denver room without saving him, the phone guy actually has a special interaction; that's why there's that phone outside of the room. So not saving Denver actually did get considered in Murder, but not Picture.
yeah, the helper hat has a few bugs, especially in the more nonlinear levels. it basically looks for the closest progress point, or uncollected thing, and falls back on the nearest door if it doesn't know what to do. given the way this level is laid out internally, it can sometimes find stuff not in...
dev talk: the tree is indeed meant to be a hard challenge. originally, the thorns around the tree were stricly decoration but experienced playtesters tried to climb it, so we turned it into a challenge instead. you'll see what relics unlock later, but they're really not nothing. fyi, the dash is you...
the biggest inspiration for this game is probably papyrus plumber, which is where a lot of the wacky story shenanigans come from. after that, a mix of pikmin, sunshine, wind waker, and other random games that the team likes, most of them ninty ones. yarn ball spoilers: There is an in-game ability to...
There's a bit more to the authorship drama, but at this point it's left forgotten. Having worked for Jonas, he's fantastic to work for these days, and knows how to make a game fun.
The remaining JonTron voice lines are super deep in the vaults and never getting released, hth.
hey raocow fair warning: after the second credits roll and the title screen says 100% there is an extra bonus room that's opened up at the bottom of teletransit hub. hell if i know what it is though.
gate gate was actually fully accessible since you got all the pound thingies. it's a little something extra, so just do it first. don't expect too much. grape gate is the endgame.
also i apparently never figured out where the actual gauntlet entrance was because i also fell in through the dumpster.
i think the intention of the developers is that in-universe the little box thing is the mechanism that registers stomps. it can light up but it can also lower bridges and other things. i do agree that it's a bit confusing and the game tends to not separate world-building and cool environments and pu...
i am mildly miffed that a recurring puzzle named stuff like "introspection" and "reflection" don't involve just waiting around until the piggy enters a zen idle state More seriously, though, I don't really like how completely vague the results of those puzzles are. My gut reacti...
