Re: What games are you playing?

Also I highly recommend playing Lacrimosa of Dana. The original pc port was total garbage (it's been fixed now by someone actually competent thankfully) but the game itself is easily one of the best in the series. The way it's more open world is pretty neat and the village system is kinda interesti...

Re: What games are you playing?

After a little silly mishap, I started reading Robotics;Notes Elite today. Like any Science Adventure VN it's real slow at the start so there isn't too much to comment on. The 3D models are decent (and since Elite improves them, I wonder what they looked like in the original version) but I can tell ...

Re: A BIG BOUQUET OF CREAM-COLORED ROSES WOOOOO - Heroes - For A Walk In The Park (2/5)

Are you remembering Team Sonic/Dark's version of the level? The Team Rose version made the safety panels at the bottom of the pinball tables indestructable, which is sure to alter the experience significantly. That's what it is! I only ever played as Team Sonic as a kid. Much frustration was had, I...

Re: A BIG BOUQUET OF CREAM-COLORED ROSES WOOOOO - Heroes - For A Walk In The Park (2/5)

This level and the next one are the only two in the game I clearly remember! It was somewhat weird to see the actual level and how it differs from what I remember.

It's been a million years since the last SMBX lp! I wonder how this one will go.

Re: A BIG BOUQUET OF CREAM-COLORED ROSES WOOOOO - Heroes - For A Walk In The Park (2/5)

Oh boy finally we reached the only Sonic game I've actually played because it's the only one I had when I was a wee lass

Even then, I hardly played it myself and mostly watched my brother play it. I don't really remember too much of it other than getting frustrated. lol

Re: What games are you playing?

Beat Ys VI. I had a great time with it! The music was pretty great, the gameplay was nice, though Origin would improve the magic system. The game felt like a pretty decent difficulty on Normal, though being able to use recovery items during boss fights definitely did help make it feel easier :D I di...

Re: What games are you playing?

Ys V stuff and Aside from me yeeting myself between two barrels and softlocking myself with the jump at the very start of the game, I didn't really have an issue with any of these and didn't encounter freezing. oh well I see, thanks for the information. I hadn't even thought about price. I didn't r...

Re: What games are you playing?

Beat Ys V. It's alright and I don't think it deserves the near universal hate it apparently got on release and the hate it continues to get to this day. I liked the graphics and music, the gameplay was ok, and the plot was interesting albeit predictable (which isn't inherently bad imo) I guess it ju...

Re: YUMP2 - Marginal Consciousness

This whole hack was pretty neat! There were so many different and unique gimmicks throughout and I was impressed with it all. The latter parts of the hack were not something I would ever play but it was still cool to see them in action and I'm sure were pretty awesome for people that like that sort ...

Re: YUMP2 - Haunted House

I'm glad I stopped playing this hack when I did! I never could have gotten this far even with savestate and rewind use. I just don't have the patience and skill needed for this sort of thing.

Re: What games are you playing?

I'm playing Ys: Oath in Felghana after a several month long break. I like to play the Ys games on Nightmare diffculty, but Nightmare on this game makes Nightmare on the rest of the series look like casual mode. I started a playthrough of this series a while back, but I've been stuck up on this game...

Re: What games are you playing?

At the very least someone did make patches to restore the difficulty to the Japanese originals. Doesn't fix the made up scripts though

If you (as, the person reading my post and no one in particular) already knew about these feel free to ignore me, I've nothing to add to this discussion lol

Re: What games are you playing?

The things I missed out on by playing the NES version of FF2... Been playing Ys: Memories of Celceta lately, just finished up the main plot in Selray and did a few sidequests there. I'm liking it so far, but the occasional enemy that is like 10 levels higher than you and nearly one shot you are a bi...

Re: request grab-bag

I admit I have only ever heard horror stories about the dungeon crawling and have never played it myself but I cannot imagine recommending raocow play Persona 3 That game would absolutely get MariAri'd in the final dungeon The hardest part about Tartarus is that it's long and random - personally, I...

Re: request grab-bag

I would totally support Ys LPs. I've been playing through them actually (well, the new canon versions, not the originals) and they are really fun, other than some bosses. ys would be good as well and the translations aren't too bad either (i've never heard the fandub of dawn of ys though); celceta, ...

Re: Life Goes On: Done to Death - Central Heating

This LP has been really interesting so far! I had never heard of this game prior to it showing up in my subscriptions box a few days ago. Puzzle games are not my jam but this seems interesting enough. I wonder how complicated the late game puzzles will be. The game is introducing a lot of mechanics ...

Re: What games are you playing?

Finished Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers yesterday. It's interesting how exploitable the final boss is, particularly if you're fighting the physical oriented version. If you defeat Apsu as Naomi then Manitou uses lots of physical attacks. Which means that if you use Tetrakarn and/or lots of demons that...

Re: What games are you playing?

SMT1 probably isn't more than 25 hours especially if you use a guide, unless maybe if you're doing Neutral because basically having to do the Cathedral twice and just fighting both the Law route and Chaos route bosses in general . If you do play SMT1, you should use Orden's fix patch as Gideon's eng...

Re: What games are you playing?

Personally, I'd recommend Shin Megami Tensei 1 or 2 over if... but if isn't a bad suggestion. I'm not surprised to see names I do not recognize, I've never branched out too much in RPG world.

Re: What games are you playing?

After not playing it for a while, I went back to Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers and I got to the Algon Microelectronics dungeon. That particular session was really annoying because almost every single enemy only attacked Nemissa barring a multi-target attack. As a result I had to heal her after basica...
