Re: Spyro (2) - City of the Sheep's Desire
Personally I've always felt Spyro 2 has the best actual level design since the way all the different parts link together is cool, but the orbs aren't as fun as just exploring so I put it about the same as Spyro 1 overall. Spyro 3 in a clear 3rd, mostly due to how the side objectives work in that gam...

Re: Spyro (2) - Wizards' Peak
You mention the process of aiming with the rocks being slow but you very rarely actually need to aim, just jump and shoot you'll hit the flying enemies pretty easily. The only times aiming has been required is those couple orbs about shooting little enemies high on top of buildings.

Re: Spyro (2) - George's Dinner
You came upon the trick to the crystal game right at the end there, rather than chasing steam around yourself it's easier to stand at whatever crack Hunter goes to and steal all his crystals.

Re: Spyro (2) - Ripto's questionable title stylization
Personally I dislike minimaps and actively turn them off unless it's absolutely necessary (like for or certain types of stealth). I find they're often a bit too useful, to the point where I spend more time looking at the minimap than the proper screen and end up not appreciating or learning the envi...

Re: Spyro the Dragon - bog-standard? it's anything but
Fun fact! You don't actually need to do the whole green thief's route in Tree Tops. It's incredibly finicky and precise but you can just jump to the right off the first supercharge ramp, circle around in the air, and land on the final ramp while still charging if you do it perfectly, letting you jum...

Re: Spyro the Dragon - the reign of terrace
Personally I always found this to be the easiest flight level in Spyro 1, it does require a bit of finagling the boats and arcs at the same time but once you've figured that out you have tons of extra time, and there's no awkward easy to not notice objects like all the other levels have.

Re: Spyro the Dragon - g'night, g'norcs
It's funny raocow finding his way to the world 2 boss level before fighting world 1's. That's part of the fun of Spyro though, you've got a good choice of what order you can do things in. I kind of hate Dr Shemp's new design from Reignited a little, he gets big buttcheeks which are rather... off-put...

Re: *MAFAB2 WINNER* the one about the corrupted girl
I guess this means there were no levels where all 3 judges gave it over 100.
Actually I'd be curious to see stats on how many very high scores (ie over 100) the judges each gave, I'd guess something like
Rameau - around 20 levels maybe?
Zatsu - 5-10 levels
Sturg - 60+

Re: why are people enticed to jump on the elevator? seems dangerous if you ask me (MaGLX3)
I'm honestly a little surprised the Castle of Illusion candy land theme wasn't used for Defrost Desert, considering the visuals were from it.

Re: why are people enticed to jump on the elevator? seems dangerous if you ask me (MaGLX3)
Make an entire NES-length game in one level contest. I'm curious, is this possibly the physically longest level in MAGLX3? There are levels that take longer due to difficulty but if you played like a perfect robot and did everything first try, I figure they'd all theoretically end up being 5-10 minu...

Re: why are people enticed to jump on the elevator? seems dangerous if you ask me (MaGLX3)
I don't understand why SMBX even uses small Wario, Wario Land 4 and I think all the other games after it removed it (probably because even nintendo realised how annoying and not fun it was to have your main gameplay removed). There's really no reason to include it over the Wario Land 4 version of Wa...

Re: squarshetti squeels (MaGLX3)
This level certainly fits well as the Venice bonus level, it's a good representation of the world as a whole. Meaning it could be a decent end-game level in a separate game but focuses a bit too much on the challenge for being a single level, and has a bunch of cool mechanics but throws too much in ...

Re: squarshetti squeels (MaGLX3)
This level came across to me like it could be pretty fun if it was its own game specifically designed around the mechanic with gameplay and physics complimenting it as well as a proper health bar or a quick respawn system (and also thoroughly QA tested), but it doesn't work well at all when awkwardl...

What actually is the DPS of the different weapons? Often in games the slow but high damage weapons end up being weaker overall in terms of DPS.

Re: Wandersong - Rubato
It makes sense that Andrey keeps running ahead and waiting. She's the hero doing one of those escort mission where the escorted character moves slower than your running speed but faster than your walking speed, so that you have to constantly stop and wait for them to catch up.

Re: Half-Life 2 - Can't wait to get on the raod again!
Maybe it's because I can't touch type or grew up playing consoles, but personally I don't like using my pinky for buttons at all, it feels weird no matter how my hand is positioned. Usually I change ctrl-mapped actions to either an extra mouse button or c or v or something so I can press it with my ...

Re: Half-Life 2 - Empty Space Out Of Control Part 2
I've been playing stuff on mouse and keyboard for years and I still find pressing shift with my pinky incredibly strange-feeling and uncomfortable. Nowadays, if an important control is on shift or ctrl, the first thing I do is re-bind it to something less awkward.
