Re: Donkey Kong Country 2 -- Subterraneans of Darkness

I've never played this (shameful, I know), and so have a question: is there any benefit to using Diddy instead of Dixie other than "he holds things in front of him rather than overhead?" (I'm thinking here of a unique character ability like Dixie's glide twirl or Donkey Kong's ground pound in DKC1; ...

Re: Henry Hatsworth - Ladies and gentlemen, kindly remove your pipes

A spoiler-riffic question, for those who are familiar with the game (which I am not).
Will the game's ending be different if raocow reaches it without having found any secret levels/exits?

Re: request grab-bag

I know "Baba is You" has been mentioned a few times in this thread. I've been playing it recently and, as a result, I'm now adding my voice to those suggesting it for an LP. Yes, it's a pure puzzle game. It also has a style, sensibilities, and a fundamental approach that I think will resonate well w...

Re: Henry Hatsworth - Ladies and gentlemen, kindly remove your hats

You people and watching YouTube through ad riddled apps. I'll never understand. Dude, sitting through a few seconds of ads for each raocow video literally gives him money without having to be a patapon. I explicitly try to watch as many of his videos on mobile such that the ads aren't blocked Does ...

Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

Shadow Hearts and its sequels (Shadow Hearts: Covenant and Shadow Hearts: From the New World), all PS2 games, have turn-based combat where every player action in battle requires timed button presses on the "Judgment Ring." Their prequel, Koudelka (PS1), has turn-based combat play out on a small tact...

Funnily enough, at the same time he played a game called Rex Rocket, i only watched a single part, and it was the same thing, it was raocow dieing and complaining all the time. that's not a reflection on raocow, that's a reflection on rex rocket EDIT wait that was just two years ago ?! Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - World Of Illusion

faxanadu would be amazing actually i want this....... I enjoy Faxanadu too, but I don't know how to answer the question "why should raocow play such an old and janky metroidvania-with-light-RPG-elements when there are so many more recent and less janky options in that SotN-style category" - which I...

not specifically about MLSS, but rather a question about the adjacent topic of future potential raocow RPG play(s) if raocow were to one day play a touhou RPG, what would folks recommend? i ask with no knowledge of touhou RPGs out there other than "i assume they exist" and with no particular strong ...

re: level names

Is the umbrella level intended to evoke Knytt Stories? If so I approve.

XXI is I believe a reference to the Tarot card "The World."

I think I explained it earlier but it started because of the "Attention X" threads that were popular when Starfox started, and it just kind of snowballed from there.
I echo Kilgamayan. Excellent choices throughout.

Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - TSRP

Question for those very familiar with this game, coming from someone (me) in the camp of "played it through once and beat it years ago but barely remembers any of the specifics": Is grinding actually needed in this game? Re: JUMP mean(U(0,1)) - Spring cleaning? Wonderful. Just wonderful.

Coming in late on this, but just wanted to note that I thought the final Bowser boss looked like a lot of fun. Yes, I am coming at this from the perspective of a middling Touhou player (by which I mean "I usually do well on Normal and mostly still get stomped on Hard").

I never owned a Star Fox game. I remember renting this once, and recall a final boss fight, but have no idea if I actually "completed" the game. Looking forward to this.

Re: La-Mulana - Wishbringer

I remember the blue miniboss that guarded the Feather on the Surface being there as well, filling that big gap in the back of the group. Maybe he's there if you 100%? Argus the Bargus appears if your completion time is under 20 hours. During the ending, you will always see Lemeza, Xelpud, Mulbruk, ...

Congratulations, raocow. Supreme performance throughout and a hard-fought, well-deserved victory. For those curious about the thread title theme, it's explained in the spoiler block.
