Re: DT3 Epilogue: raocow and the warship

raocow beating the Skyfall segment without ever remembering how the air dash mechanic works was great. These are the unique moments you can only get when someone does an LP and takes a three year break before jumping right back into the endgame. The game has some pretty extensive platforming based a...

Re: DT3 Epilogue: raocow and the minecarts

I'm impressed raocow not only beat that boss having not played the game in over three years, but also almost entirely with Link's ability set and not using Megaman, Belmont, or morph bombs at all (or leaving the boss encounter to check his equipment). His ability to simplify game mechanics and get t...

Re: DT3 Epilogue: raocow and the game that continues

Does raocow have the

spring ball

in this save file? I don't remember if it is really even relevant at this point, but it could be a nice quality of life thing for him to know about if he has it.

Re: Distorted Travesty 3: Epilogue - Epilogue?

I guess this is to be expected jumping straight into the end of the game after so long. I think if the preceding events were more fresh, what you have to do next is a lot more intuitive than just jumping in with minimal context. Hopefully the re-learning curve in gameplay once raocow gets to the act...

Re: VIP 5 2019 - Like nostalgia to old people (read 25+) bored of current trends

This has been a fun LP. The VIP replays in general have been fascinating as far as showing how much raocow has progressed at the game over the years (and how his videos in general have evolved), though it's been long enough that the videos still feel like mostly new stuff unless I actually seek out ...

Re: COMING UP NEXT

I just hope DT3: Epilogue doesn't take too long. That ending left a bad taste in my mouth :| I think the epilogue is worth watching even if you did not like how the story ended, at least for an episode or two to see what it involves. The new content includes a new true ending that replaces the old ...

Re: VIP 5 2019 - Like argot to the tweeds yattin' about nonch tidrey

The whole room before the flying section for the secret exit is a big reference to the Outer Wall in Cave Story, including the area below the stage with the moon and the midpoint room that sends you out through the wall. I think this does a pretty good job of recreating the feel of that area without...

Re: All The S@nics - CD - ...The Problem's Chronic!

This game was released two years before Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, so the Smashing Pumpkins must have written "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" about playing Sonic. It kind of makes sense if the song is written from the perspective of one of the animals trapped in Robotnik's robots.

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

The Mario/actor thing comes from a comment Miyamoto made in an interview, but I never got the impression Mario canon is something Nintendo takes seriously anyway.

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

Maybe the blue paint attack doesn't actually hurt anyone, it is just upsetting to have blue paint spilled on you. That would explain why Sonic isn't affected as long as he covers any parts of his body that aren't already blue and why it doesn't work for Tails.

Re: All The S@nics - 2 (8-bit) - Mastering Second Gear

That happened right as I was thinking that a nice little automated breather section that plays itself and leads you right to the boss was a refreshing way to finish up the tube maze zone and surprisingly friendly from this game.

Re: JUMP ½ - Half a jump is still a jump

I was really impressed with this game. Everything in the JUMP series so far has made for a great LP, and I always look forward to those videos more than most Mario stuff.

It sounds like they put a lot of work into this one, and it really shows. Great job to all involved.

Re: All The S@nics - 2 (8-bit) - Mastering Second Gear

raocow could probably have PPR redo the audio for the glitched parts and not say anything and we would just accept that that's how this game is.

Re: Things raocow Has Featured In

Even if raocow ends up replaying Sonic 3, the Sonic 3 race will still be the canon playthrough for All the Sonics in my mind, like how his previous X LPs were for All the MegaMen.

Re: All The S@nics - 1 (8-Bit) - Bridging The Generation Gap

It's the DT3 warship!

I was confused by the title at first because "When the Night Comes Falling From the Sky" is very noticeably an '80s song, but then again Bob Dylan did have a lot of older material re-released with outtakes and alternate versions later on, so I guess that's what happened.

Re: All The S@nics - 1 (8-Bit) - Bridging The Generation Gap

It's interesting that Janet Jackson wrote a song inspired by Sonic music given that her brother had been hired to compose music for a different Sonic game. Maybe the whole family were fans.

Having the beach cave in to reveal the underground map as you exit the earthquake level is a really cool detail. This game is full of neat little touches like that.

Re: JUMP log₉3 - Half a jump is still a jump

I think Dire Dire Diet being completable without water physics without actually asking you to do so is a nice touch because it sells the idea that it is actually a normal non-water level and Mario can just accidentally fly because of his diet.

jokes on you metropolis was surprisingly easy! though I haven't been able to find six song titles with labyrinth in the name within the single year of 1991, spoilers Here's a list of 1991 releases containing songs with "Labyrinth" in the title: https://www.discogs.com/search/?type=all&track=labyrin...

Re: All The Sanics - 1 - Dusting Doilies Since 1991

I vote for alternating every third game between 1 act per video, 1 zone per video, and the entire game in one real-life-core video.

(I'm fine with however raocow decides to split the video sessions.)

Re: All The Sanics - 1 - Dusting Doilies Since 1991

I am amazed not only by the surreal nature of the video description for the first Sonic 1 video, but that raocow managed to unify the entirety of the Sonic canon in a legitimately coherent way using Rad Mobile. C-side videos are a bonus on top of two daily LP series anyway, so I don't think it reall...
