Re: What games are you playing?

I think it's the combination of the iffy combat system and cut content for time bringing about constant backtracking. With the battle system, some enemies can be chained when you hit them, others will be invincible. There's never really any rhyme or reason behind it. I got through it over the weeken...

Re: Talkhaus Mario Maker 2 Level Sharing Thread! Wow!

That's how Nintendo designed some of the 2D ones, and he likes that accessible for anyone strategy. And besides, they can make for good speed run attempt levels since if you do try to ace them, you'll more than likely screw it up at some point.

Re: Talkhaus Mario Maker 2 Level Sharing Thread! Wow!

Might just be easier to post my friend's SMM2 maker profile code instead since he's already got 25+ levels out now. They're meant to be able to be beaten even if you never press the run button, so the difficulty is more low to low-medium with a few jumps here and there depending on the levels themse...

Re: All The S@nics - CD - ...The Problem's Chronic!

There was another Past post up in the top area. It was just to the right of the first checkpoint if you drop down. There are some springs to bounce you right back up top afterwards. To time travel from there, you can start a Super Peel Out run next to the Future post that's by that red spring and ju...

Re: All The S@nics - CD - ...The Problem's Chronic!

So while you can't do any bonus levels in the third level of each place, you can always get two lives from them if you really want to since they all contain 100 rings and an extra life monitor. And yeah, the pinball physics in this boss level are not that good in the original version.

Re: What games are you playing?

Because of Pink's streams, I'm giving Secret of Mana another go. Pretty sure I already made it back to where I was when I stopped a few years back in the Upper Land area way back when. Basically trying to speed through the game this time.

Re: All The S@nics - CD - ...The Problem's Chronic!

Sonic CD's an oddball, but it's one of the ones I liked. One of the few Sonic titles I went through on my own channel. Should be fun to watch raocow go through this one and see how it's one of the more exploration-based adventures in the series. More partial to our soundtrack than the original one, ...

Re: What games are you playing?

Final Fantasy XV is completed after a major power session with it yesterday. The first eight chapters were so much fun since there was an open-world aspect to it and made it very easy to take things on or not in any order outside of the main plot, of course. Once you get past that point, the game go...

Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Drama Mistery

So glad raocow finally explored the fields. I was hoping he would find those 2D sections. There is actually one more 2D section. I don't remember exactly where it is, but I think its straight left of the desert entrance (not in the desert, just left of the entrance). Thus concludes the 'collect the...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

You technically still have a chance to get to the Special Stage three more times in the one level coming up later on, but yeah, I didn't think you'd get all seven in this one. Besides, your familiarity with the series isn't like Mario or Mega Man here, so it's kind of expected that you'll miss out o...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

That 1-2 punch of Mystic Cave and Oil Ocean is my favorite part of Sonic 2. While the rest of the game isn't bad to me, it doesn't really hook me like all the other Genesis ones do for the whole finale deal. And it's a shame that DocFuture's version of Mystic Cave was not used in any of the remakes....

In the second phase of the Wily Machine fight, you can shoot the gear legs down for an easier target, but that gives you les...

Re: What games are you playing?

Agreed on both counts with the map and items needing to be better specified and sorted. It got a bit tiring going to a list to make sure I crafted the right thing and wasn't something I had already used for something else, but all of that was extra, so I knew what I was getting into at that point. E...

Re: What games are you playing?

Been playing Bloodstained: Ritual of the Ngiht a bunch when I can find the time. Easily one of the best Metroidvanias I've ever played. Seems to combine the best aspects of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow and Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia which are my two favorite entries in the Castlevania series. Al...

Re: Yep. (NP: Mega Man 11)

(6) Block Man (7) Blast Man Block Man's considered the starting pick by a lot of players, but as was pointed out to me, it was the demo stage. Still, I wouldn't exactly go busters blazing in this one as it's easy to get ambushed by blocks or those enemies that phase in, has a pretty tricky miniboss...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

In Sonic 1 (with the odd exception of Spring Yard Zone as stage 3) you had a pretty consistent, gradual progression from natural environments to more urban ones. You also had the day to night progression. Morning in Green Hill, midday in Marble, evening in Spring Yard, whatever in Labyrinth, nightt...

I've never, for the life of me, been able to get into Castlevania. Is there something I'm missing? :ehh: maybe it's just not my thing? certainly feels that way I'm the same way about Pokémon. I get it and even enjoyed a semi-clone in World of Final Fantasy since catching monsters was the big part o...

Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Super Mario World Omega

Talking about the bean stuff from past locations isn't a spoiler, so we're good. If you start mentioning specific locations of them that are hidden or ones or definitely others in areas that have yet to be shown in the playthrough, then yes, those would definitely need spoiler boxes. Other than that...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

So how many save posts did rao skip today? I saw two. The thing is most of them are all really out of the way in Act 1 or come too soon to have 50 rings in Act 2. Act 1 has three, and you have to take the extreme lowest routes for both of the first two, and the third is pretty much right after the ...

(4) Impact Man (5) Acid Man Our next couple of vids are a tale of two stages. Impact Man was done at the tail end of our first playing session, and there are definitely some lapses in gameplay judgment at times on the lift sections. Those aren't easy to begin with thanks to all the projectiles bein...

Re: What games are you playing?

Well, Curse of the Moon took most of its cues off the two old-school style games I like the most in III and Rondo of Blood. This one feels like that mix of Symphony, Sorrow, and Ecclesia, my favorites of that style. I tried that whole not dying thing, but some of those bosses aren't being very coope...

Re: What games are you playing?

Going through Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. It's basically taking what worked from Symphony, the Sorrow games, and Order of Ecclesia to make the kind of game I've been wanting to play for a while now. Some obtuse parts and iffy loading times when you die, but other than that, yeah. This is an e...
