If I recall correctly there's a Mantis Shrimp in the Indie souls like Another Crab's Treasure, which is a game about being a hermit crab with many different "shells" which each have their own abilities and defensive properties.

These scissor-birds and the way they "gallop" with a tall, narrow gait really evoke Scrabs from Abe's Oddessy for me. In fact, this whole game evokes that to a certain degree.
