Re: All The SOUPER S@nics - 3&K - Invincible

I'm going to say Sonic Adventure 2 is the line where people hit the limit in terms of how many characters they could bring themselves to care about. So, of course, Sega continued to keep introducing new (playable) characters to the franchise for many games after that, to a point where "Sonic and his...

Re: All The SOUPER S@nics - 3&K - Invincible

Ah, Doomsday Zone. A stage that would set the standard for mainline Sonic game final bosses for decades to come. An improvement over Sonic 2/Sonic 3 Standalone's final boss fights, at least.

Re: All The SOUPER S@nics - 3&K - Invincible

Fun fact: In the game's level select, Hidden Palace Zone is technically considered Lava Reef Zone Act 4 ("Act 3" being the auto-scroll section leading up to the boss fight against Robotnik's...lava submarine...thing).

Can't say I was expecting raocow to make a One Piece reference today (I say, despite raocow having acknowledged its existence in a video at least once in the past).

Re: COMING UP NEXT

So, out of curiosity, has "Mario 64 hack to be determined" been...determined yet? I don't know anything about Super "Mario" World 2, but SM63 seems nearly done, and based on how the first two DKCs went I can't imagine DKC3 taking more than around 2 weeks so it seems like raocow might want to make a ...

Re: All the S@nics - 3&K - Speed Demon

If we're posting alternative ways to play S3&K, Sonic 3: Angel Island Revisited also exists. Main features Because it was built on the original ROM, Sonic 3 A.I.R. features physics that are 100% accurate to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. However, a large number of changes were implemented to provide players wi...

Re: All the S@nics - 3&K - Speed Demon

Fun(?) Fact: While you can still buy Sonic 3 & Knuckles on PC for $5, Sega seems to be unwilling or unable to release it in their more recent game compilations like the console versions of the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive Classics collection that came out last year, or the imminent Genesis/Mega Drive Min...

Re: All The S@nics - Chaos - LEATHER, LACE, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!

Yeah, uh, something extremely broke there. You were supposed to end up going to a short little course where you need to find/collect the Chaos Emerald within a certain amount of time. Not just...skip the special stage entirely.

Re: All The S@nics - Chaos - LEATHER, LACE, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING!

Ah, Sonic Chaos. My favorite of the 8-bit Sonic games (which may not be saying much). Chaos Emeralds are in the game, though I think it's just a minor good/bad ending type thing without any extra stages attached. If I remember right, getting them involves collecting 100 rings, at which point you're ...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

I can't believe raocow managed to go through Mystic Cave Zone without falling into That Pit. I mean, I guess that's a good thing, but it leaves people who haven't played the game themselves before with a slightly more positive impression of the zone than I suspect a lot of players ended up with back...

Re: request grab-bag

Man, there's a part of me that wants to see raocow try LPing one of the Tales of ____ RPGs from Namco, because I feel like the combat systems in those games would be right up raocow's alley. ...Then another part of me remembers that the Tales series as a whole is Extremely Anime, and I'm not sure th...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

I realize that it's probably mostly because of level shuffling that had to be done due to time/cartridge space constraints, but man the level progression in Sonic 2 is so weird compared to the first game. In Sonic 1 (with the odd exception of Spring Yard Zone as stage 3) you had a pretty consistent,...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 - I Could Go Super Sonic...

I think the developers made the (generally mistaken) assumption that if you were playing as Sonic & Tails together, then you must have had two people playing (since that's sort of the whole point of that option), and thus had an actual person controlling Tails in the bonus stages to help you get rin...

Re: All The S@nics - 2 (8-bit) - Mastering Second Gear

So I know there's a certain portion of the Sonic fanbase who does the whole "Eggman who? He'll always be Robotnik to me." schtick, and I just have to wonder how they actually reconcile that attitude with the obvious egg theme that existed even pre-Sonic Adventure. Like, just in this game you've got ...

Re: All The S@nics - 1 (8-Bit) - Bridging The Generation Gap

I doubt raocow will do this, but just gonna put it out there that I think it'd be a good idea to end each of the Master System Sonic games (1/2/Chaos) with a one-shot video showing off the Game Gear versions. Both because I think those are probably the versions that most people in North America woul...

Re: All The Sanics - 1 - Dusting Doilies Since 1991

I didn't really have any problems with one-video-per-act (I tend to enjoy shorter videos more, what with the daily release schedule), but do understand everyone else's concerns about it. Ultimately, raocow should do what feels right to him, but I'll throw my hat in with the "decide how to handle eac...

Re: Star Fox (SNES) - Clear head, new life ahead

Judging by "Macbeth" over on Path 3, Titania is presumably named after the character Titania from A Midsummer Night's Dream, and would be pronounced the same way.

I think it talks to the wild breathed of the sonic total experience. While I don't normally comment on such things, for future reference, raocow, the phrase that I think you were going for there is "wide breadth". As to the video itself...uh, hoo boy that sure was a game integral to the Sonic the H...

Re: All the Mega Men One-Shots - Just For Kicks

Battle & Chase actually did receive an English localization, and was released in Europe in 1998, but didn't come out in America until they included it as a bonus game in the Mega Man X Collection for GCN/PS2 in 2006.

Re: Mega Man 11 - Gearing Up for the Finale

Back when he had it listed in the Coming Up Next thread, raocow initially had it as "all the sanics", which he then later clarified to "all the 2D sanics". So it depends on whether raocow has changed his mind since then (I'm going to assume he hasn't, if only because including all the 3D ones would ...

This isn't important at all, but I feel like making note of this anyway, regarding the very prominent acronym on the second screen:

English version: M.E.G.A (Meta-Encapsulated Granule Awareness)
Japanese version: R.O.C.K (Rebirth of Crystallized Knowledge)
