Re: What games are you playing?
Anyway, I just finished the third story chapter, and unless there's more it looks like there's one left. The one problem I do have with Murder By Numbers is that it's clearly making you go down the wrong patch on some story things. I mean, it's part of the plot and not really like you have a choice...

Re: What games are you playing?
EDIT: Managed to totally forget I also am at the end of Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia. I am very ready to be done with this game. The difficulty feels very cheap with enemies and especially bosses taking out huge chunks of your health while you do very little damage. I managed to inch my way throu...

Re: What games are you playing?
Started The Witness cause I just noticed it's free on PSN. I'm not really a puzzle gamer and I'm impatient but a lot of people I know talk good about it. I'm pretty medium on it. I think I'm playing it wrong because I like exploring and looking for secrets but I keep running into areas with puzzles...

Re: (MaGLX)^3 = ?
This is going to be another lp, like the DT games, which are a complete pain in the ass to watch because I'll have to pause the video every five seconds to actually read message boxes. (Which is exactly why I never rewatch those lps despite them being some of my favorite games raocow has lped.) lif...

Re: COMING UP NEXT
All these years of shilling for Ys Origin and ZWEI of all things becomes raocow's first Falcom game (no but seriously how did that happen?) I think it'd be better if he started with another Ys game since you won't get some of what Origin is talking about without having beaten Ys I/II first but I de...

Re: Shovel Kinght: King of Cards - Lay that country on me, babe!
Had anyone looked even slightly deeper (which only Spectre Knight and Cardia were able to, though both were serving their own agendas), they would've seen King Knight as who he was: A self-absorbed, emotionally stunted young man with delusions of grandeur to drown out his lot in life. When you real...

Re: What games are you playing?
I decided to replay Doom Eternal before getting to its dlc since, from my understanding, they start at endgame difficulty and it's been about a year since I played it. I figured I'd give nightmare difficulty a shot. The first level, or more specifically a fight near the end of it, is definitely a ni...

Re: What games are you playing?
Picked up Stellaris in a recent HIB since it'd been on my wish list for quite awhile and it was the best deal I'd seen for it so far. It's quite fun so far though there are some odd design decisions such as not including an option to disable edge-scrolling despite not binding the mouse to the game w...

Re: Okami HD - Bullfinch and Weeping Cherry Blossoms
The commitment to no item use is impressive - I probably would have used an Inkfinity Stone instead of waiting seven years for my ink to refill at those slot machine cogs. You'd really expect that anyone complaining about running out of ink would just use one to fix their problem instead of continu...

I'm with raocow on leaving Issun out and just panning over to Amaterasu with a blank look on her face in conversations.

Re: Okami HD - Head of an Old Man
raocow, I think that the reason the old man gave you so much trouble is that you didn't think to try the time slow ability during that section, assuming it works. (It didn't appear to work on Hayazo so who knows if it would've worked on the old man.)

Re: What games are you playing?
A friend randomly decided to pick up Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet and then randomly decided to get me the game thinking I'd like it despite not having watched SA:O. Wasn't a bad choice. I've only played a few hours but I enjoyed what I've played. Biggest complaints are just that the controls are a...

Re: Donkey Kong 64 - no rhinos beyond this point
In my opinion, I think Donkey Kong 64 is most fun when you go through it at your own pace, just exploring a level wherever and however much you want. It's when you approach the game with a completionist mindset that its design philosophy starts to drive you insane. So yes, at least to start, I'm to...

That last K. Rool cutscene felt very reminiscent of some of the Panther King cutscenes from Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Re: Okami HD - Ejiri
Pushing the balls up that hill is probably the worst feeling thing in the entire game. Fortunately it's optional, but that doesn't really help when you think it might not be optional. Honestly it feels totally not worth it when you get a whopping 10 praise per ball. With how much trouble it seems t...

Re: Okami HD - Suruga Street
Technically, raocow, you need 1900% more dog and not 95% more. Regardless though, you could really use at least 1,000,000% more cat though.

Re: Advent Christmas 2020: Digital Edition!
Eh the lore regarding capital-cow has always seemed very loosey-goosey. At times it's Roo's raocow, sometimes it's a nonexistant thing ("raocow, who is that, I watch raocow huehuehue"), and I think I've even seen it refer to a "evil raocow" hypothetical persona, and yet other ti...

Re: Advent Christmas 2020: Digital Edition!
the joke is capital R raocow is the cartoon one lowercase r raocow is the actual person i thought this was established lore but maybe not lol Nah, it's just an easy oversight to make. Even more so since the site had been autocorrecting the spelling for months irritatingly. (Which meant I wasn't eve...

Re: What games are you playing?
Played Sunless Skies since a friend bought me it for Christmas. I'm glad Failbetter learned from Sunless Seas but even with an option for a larger font, the font size in the game is still ridiculously microscopic. The large font size is the standard font size used in most games. Which means it's sti...
