I think what the Football Level demonstrates really nicely is how important just the little details are to the overall presentation. Like yeah, maybe gameplay wise you can make a comparable level in something like Mario Maker, but being allowed to add your own graphics, music, dialogue and the likes...

It looks like one of those levels where when you're testing it as the creator, you know the exact timings, and like raocow said with a certain flow you can probably do it quite reliably. With some more polish and generous checkpointing this could've placed a fair deal higher, giving a bit more space...

If this game has one big flaw in hindsight it's that the level design is kind of bland? I love the Wario Land series, but I feel like when you look back at a lot of these areas then they end up feeling very basic, and it's not like the items you get allow you to really explore the level in a new way...

Today's level was REALLY impressive, I can certainly see where all the scores are coming from. Having played Lisa, it was really neat to see all the references to it in theme, music and even the way the areas are interconnected, very cleverly designed and adapted to SMBX.
