Re: Hexoshi - New Metroid-like game I'm developing
https://savannah.nongnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=8855 It probably looks on the outside like Hexoshi is dormant, and I must apologize for that. Regardless of appearances, I am actually busier than I have been in a long time, since I have recently started re-learning Japanese (successfully!) and a...

Re: Hexoshi - New Metroid-like game I'm developing
That last one was an April Fool's joke. This one is real, and it's huge: https://savannah.nongnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=8838 I must apologize for the late announcement of the voting results. I just so happened to launch a Patreon page at the same time as the voting ended, so I forgot to do so....

Project: Starfighter recently became available for Windows:

I don't know whether or not you're into space games, but if you are, you should give this one a try. It's a classic. It works with a gamepad, too.

keeping an earring on permanently is probably pretty dangerous. nobody i've heard of leaves jewelry in their piercings for long periods of time like that In fact, the earrings put in your piercings the first time can be left in forever, and you're not supposed to take them out until it completely h...

Re: biggie > tupac
That would depend on what kind of metal it is, wouldn't it? ;) After all, wearing earrings isn't dangerous. But you'd have to be an idiot to wear earrings made of lead. (And it would turn you into an even bigger idiot.)BurntTenda wrote:I don't think keeping a metal silver in your hand is particularly healthy.

https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi/updates/the-fun-begins Boy, do we have quite an update today! Lots of stuff is going on. Re: Hexoshi - New Metroid-like game I'm developing
https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi/updates/finish-line As the year 2016 comes to a close, so does this campaign. I am glad that it has been a success and look forward to completing Milestone 1 in 2017. But it’s not over yet! Since the last update, I have done some extra (unpaid) work on Hexo...

Re: request grab-bag
If it was a modification made by Nintendo, it probably wasn't a ROM hack. That would be silly; SMA4 wasn't developed that long ago, so Nintendo should still have had the source code to it stashed away somewhere. Modifying the source code is always much easier than modifying a binary.

Re: Hexoshi - New Metroid-like game I'm developing
https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi/updates/busy-week I unfortunately haven’t been able to do much this week with Hexoshi because of a busy week at work. New update: Special characters https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi/updates/special-chars Over on Hexoshi’s GitLab page, I and a volunteer have been working on extending Hexoshi’s font to support accented characters. Update: Tile Improvements https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi/updates/update6 Over the last few days, I have been updating Hexoshi’s rooms to use some new edge tiles I made a few days ago. Hexoshi - New Metroid-like game I'm developing
I recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for Hexoshi , the game I'm developing: https://www.crowdsupply.com/onpon4/hexoshi https://hexoshi.gitlab.io/screenshots/screenshot1.png This is going to be my biggest game yet once completed. I'm hoping to capture the essence of everything that made Super ...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)
It looks pretty obvious to me: too high of a deadzone. I think that the deadzone should be removed altogether, but if you're going to have one, it should be extremely low.

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)
Do the spokes quantify the number of positions rendering the stick "not analog"? Maybe. Would that information be quantified into bits anyway regardless of mechanism in a video game console made after 1960? Most definitely. How many different unique states can the N64 analog stick achieve...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)
I have no idea what hairs you are attempting to split when claiming the N64 controller is not "analog", but I would say a controller with two potentiometers would fall into the "analog" category. The N64 controller doesn't use potentiometers. It uses a pair of wheels with slots,...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)
Still seems like the joystick only has 8-16 directions. Edit: Also, he seems to be going full tilt instantly. If someone told me raocow mapped the analog stick to the D-Pad, then used the analog stick to act as the D-pad, I would not argue with them in the slightest. That's what a deadzone is suppo...
