That's all well and good, but who will bell the cat how would such a no-tolerance policy be enforced?

Re: Worst All the MegaMen LP 2018

I have to second Mega Man Network Transmission. The game doesn't lend itself well to raocow's style, given that it's supposed to encourage you to play around with the chips system and raocow generally doesn't do that.

Re: Is it even possible to update the forum to have modern emojis?

Bulk resizing? Not that hard, really.

Code: Select all

for %A in (*.png) do (ffmpeg -i "%A" -vf scale=-2:24 "%~nA_shronk.png"
There's better filters to shrink with, but anything that can be done in a terminal can be done in bulk.

???

Unicode emoji should be easy since it's part of unicode now.

But yeah, some more board-custom smilies would be fun.

Re: COMING UP NEXT

You've been missing out on raocow tackling the entire Megaman universe and other fun games He's only doing the Classic-X-Zero-ZX universe? Cool beans. The EXE-verse wouldn't generally fit with his channel anyway (I exempt only Network Transmission from that generalization), though I'd still suggest...

Re: Mega Man Xtreme 2 - From One Xtreme to the Other

Seconding the "Flashing lights wasn't a problem with OG Gameboy/GBC/GBA" - in fact we generally wouldn't have noticed it until the Emulation era anyway since that was when the GBA SP brought backlight to the scene in a big way. (Backlighting had been done with some Japan-only GB variants but nothing...

Re: Mega Man Xtreme - Xtremely Familiar

So you actually could have got the Shotokan stuff the first time around, and it even sticks around for the "Hard Mode" playthrough if you use the same save slot, making "Hard Mode" something closer to "Really Easy Mode". It's very cathartic to play through regular stages with those upgrades, though...

Re: Mega Man Xtreme - Xtremely Familiar

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tN3C4awPklo How customizable are the controls in that controls menu? Start isn't presently mapped to anything - maybe you could make it a dash button? That's the only change that can be made, really. You either get double-tap dash, or you get that plus start-button d...

Re: Mega Man Xtreme - Xtremely Familiar

So this is a game I LP'd... last year? It was comparatively recent. Normal mode is Chill Penguin/Flame Stag/Storm Eagle/Spark Mandrill, then the Sigma fortress stages. "Hard" mode is Wheel Gator/Armor Armadillo/Magna Centipede/ Trash Morph Moth, then the Sigma fortress stages. If you go straight fro...

Slight correction, Sebby- EVERY level has a treasure. Every single one. No need to point out specific chapters, since... well, I'm sure you know why. :P I'm not sure what you are correcting me on. Every level from chapters (or 'worlds') 1 through 5 contain a treasure. There are only five worlds...

Re: Games you wish had an existing/bigger rom hacking scene

Wario Land 1 I can agree with; that style of platformer is the kind I quite like. Problem I had when I looked into hacking it is it's compressed, so I need someone else's tools, and everyone else's tools are outdated. ...actually most GB games I'd want to see hacks of would be compressed and need de...

I'm not sure if I hate double-tap dash because I can't dash-jump off a wall, or if I hate command dashing because I'm too used to double-tap dashing. (Damn you, Xtreme, for putting command dash on the start button.)

Re: Mega Man X4 - What Are We Playing? Fourrrrrrrrr!!!

Probably what most of my problem was was trying to do so on a GC controller. If I try to do it with a PSX/SNES controller I'd probably get it done without gaming over. Game overing?

X4 is the first of the X series that I never cleared. Got all the things, couldn't execute the final boss. I should try playing it again.

And yeah. I'm looking forward to Discount Storm Eagle and Totally-Not-From-Street-Fighter's levels.

Re: Any other Bravely Default/Bravely Second fans here?

I remember enjoying BD more than BS, despite BS being more streamlined in terms of the storyline, mostly because BS has a moment where the way to advance the plot is more BS than BD's "just keep swimming" method. Having to invoke Bravely Second during the NG+'s introductory boss fight isn't exactly ...
