Re: VLDC9 - visitors liking divergent creations 9

So about Staff Invasion today... did something go wrong with the power-ups in the "every world abridged" room or something? The message box tells me that you're supposed to get those two single mushrooms to use for the entirety of the 9 rooms or whatever, but then as soon as you finish a r...

Re: VLDC9 - vengeful lackeys daring cacophonies 9

My favorite part about today's video was one of the comments underneath which read: "You know, picking up springboards while bouncing on another springboard requires frame and pixel perfect precision and raocow managed to do it twice within the first few minutes." I expect no less than a s...

Re: VLDC9 - viridian landscapes drizzly coagulations 9

I know it's nothing new, but man do I love that remix of the basic SMW level theme that was used in the second level today. It's such a good remix, though I may hold that opinion partially because it doesn't have a chance to be used very often.

Re: VLDC9 - volcanic lifts depreciating clouts 9

it's not undertale music it's Halloween Hack music that migrated to Homestuck and then Undertale probably if Toby Fox uses it again it'll get mistaken as being from that new thing too Considering the level is outright referencing Undertale (blue stop signs) I think it's a fair mistake. As for that ...

Re: VLDC9 - vaudevilles lighting downstage craftsmanship 9

There was a debate on SMWC as to whether or not this level actually deserved 11th place because the graphics, while seriously impressive, kind of hinder the gameplay at times (I would have ranked it a bit lower, personally). I think the design is really interesting in certain parts of the level, bu...

Re: VLDC9 - vertical lodges doling chaos 9

I posit that if the falling section had coin guides, like all of the other ascent/descent sections, it wouldn't have felt so out of place. The other sections' coin guides show you exactly what you need to do - the challenge then becomes execution. With the coin guides suddenly removed, the falling ...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (World 9 Time)

Oh man, that big Chief Chilly guy was quite a bully. Also, I don't know if anyone has mentioned this to raoman yet (or if he knows himself, as I feel like I've seen him do it a few times already but I'm not sure) but when you're on fire, if you mash the jump button, the fire will go out a little fas...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)

This might've been asked before back when raocow did the first castle and I just didn't see it, but why do the stars teleport you out? The original game had stars that didn't warp you out of the levels, and even Last Impact has TWO stars you find per castle, where neither of them warp you out of the...

Re: Super Mario Star Road - raocow plays a 3D game (Back from the dead edition)

I've been playing that Last Impact ROMhack, and something I've noticed for jumps like the one raocow kept failing on in Course 4 (the ones near the end), is that they're much more manageable if you view them from the side, as if they were part of a 2D platformer. Granted, I think raocow still has to...

Is it even worth it to buy Wii U smash if I have it for the 3DS and if so why Good news I didn't have to buy it but I have it I guess??? For 8-Player Smash, of course!..... oh god actually no For real, some people would rather have it on their TV instead of a 3DS screen. Maybe even for Smash Tour, ...

Re: A Second Mario Bros X Thing: analog funk V1.0

Important I'm a complete idiot. The super leek patch I released a while back is what is breaking Castle of the World for some people. If you've applied the Super Leek patch, you need to apply this as well to be able to start the level. What exactly was the issue with the Super Leeks? I know that it...

Maybe I should be more open to experimenting...

Re: A Second Mario Bros X Thing: analog funk V1.0

Oh man, whoever playtested Unseen and Mysterious Future did an excellent job. Nevermind how the desert and guided platform sections are effectively impossible without some sort of level 2 powerup, or how just clusterfucky nearly any section can get. The only fairly designed section in the entire li...

So uh.. I'm done with the whole post game world, and I went and did the door in the Castle of No Significance that requires all 91 leeks... but the title screen says I only have 97%... is that normal?

Ahh... so YOU are the one responsible for this. Well, I'll let you know that it's not THAT hard. It seems daunting at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's very straight forward and just requires patience. That being said... I can't get the secret exit because of one. Let's just say I'm not the best at Mario platformers. I think the fact that you beat the game at all means you're pretty good. Good luck on the first level of the postgame. That's my level and is probably the hardest in the game. :P Ahh... so YOU are the one responsible for this. Well, I'll let you...

Damnit Science, where'd you learn to danmaku?

It's not as hard as it sounds.
Or maybe I was just really lucky, I dunno. I do have 400 demos so I wouldn't say I'm any good.

Welp, I just finished world 8. Watching the credits right now with exactly 400 demos.

I can only imagine what awaits me in the post game.

Also, you guys here at the talkhaus just can't resist the temptation of making a danmaku boss in Mario games can you?

Re: A Second Mario Thing: better than a butt

I'm gonna be honest here, some of the obstacles that were in this level were pretty unique and I thought they were neat. Like the having to fall to get away from the thwomp, and having the following thwomp there to spin-jump on. Unfortunately, the level was just too long and had too much other stuff...

Re: Official "Mario Maker"?

The main thing, though, is that it's going to be a million times easier to share and get known for a hack or an episode that can be shared on a computer, than whatever limits exists in nintendo's game that can be played on nintendo's console. We don't even know how the level uploader/data base will...
