Re: Donkey Kong Country 3 - Welcome to Kanada!

What happened with the bear coins? You had six after buying the cave clue, got the first one in Krevice Kreepers and that put you back up to twenty. Also, on Tearaway Toboggan, the buildings you could go in front of had a path in front.

Thanks, didn't notice the others. The hole in the door seems a strange change to make.

Also I noticed the SNES controller in the background of K. Rool Duel was the American one whereas the PAL version had the PAL controller, quite surprised they'd bother changing that.

Re: One Or Two Silvanas - Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine - I Feel Like Some Apple Pie!

this is belated as it's about pinball, but, a query for the pinball knowledgeable here: how is Pinbot for the NES? I ask because (I) it's a conversion of an actual physical pinball game (with added elements), (ii) it's by Rare, and (III) I vaguely recall renting it back in ye olde halcyon days of r...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

Regarding other pinball video games, I've always liked Metroid Prime Pinball. It's definitely one of those you couldn't do on a real table, although the ball turning into a person and shooting missiles would be awesome and it wouldn't surprise me if some pinball designer has thought of a similar mec...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

Even the ball falling straight down the middle with no chance for you to catch it isn't luck--a skilled player won't let themselves get in that position in the first place. I remember someone online once complaining about the Addams Family pinball, saying that they'd launch the ball, it'd go into t...

Re: All The S@nics - Spinball - Going Full Tilt

Nothing has really ever appealed to me about pinball. I get why it got popular back in the day cause it's a neat idea as an analogue game, but once video games were a real thing it's like... why do we want to go back to this thing where there's minimal interaction and most of the outcome is pretty ...

Re: Donkey Kong Country 2 -- The Secret to Strength

When I was a kid, I found King Zing extremely difficult. My preferred strategy was to be a coward and sit in the entryway for most of the fight. Usually took a hell of a long time to beat him that way.

Re: VIP 5 2019 - Like mammoth-sized lungs to a trumpeter playing Moto Perpetuo

Lastly, Daddy Cool is throwing mahjong tiles, not diplomas. Him being stupidly good at mahjong and winning in the most absurd ways possible is a huge meme on 2ch. Bloody hell. Thanks Koba, can't believe I didn't realise that. I got quite into Japanese mahjong when I played Yakuza and yeah, looking ...

Re: Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga - Rob-Omb's Quest

I personally almost never use bros attacks outside of boss fights unless there's a particularly tanky enemy, and nothing he's encountered yet has been like that. I just finished the game yesterday, hadn't played it for years and yeah, I mainly just used bros attacks on bosses and that (mainly mode ...

If he wants to play the entire game then he has no choice since DKC2 and 3 both lock the secret worlds behind bonus coins.
The bonuses in 2 and 3 are generally more sensibly-placed anyway.

Arn Anderson, one of the best dudes never to win a scripted world championship. Seriously, he was awesome. There's a reason a version of a move is named after him.

Re: ¡Guacamelee! - Getting Your Goat... En Español

An important question: is a scoop a kind of wrestling move? Because a chickenwing is I'm pretty sure. Yes. A basic body slam. F470QQVOzXI As for the others, a chickenwing is a legit hold. Often combined with other stuff in pro wrestling, like Bob Backlund's Crossface Chickenwing. 1HiIt4Ku-ZU The He...

Re: Pyro LPs Super Metroid BLIND????

Pretty much everything Vulpine said in the comments is correct. If you'd bombed those speed blocks just before the ramp, it would have revealed that they were speed blocks. Charge beam is generally better than missiles, as seen by how Crocomire was knocked back further with the charge beam (I can't ...

I should maybe look at movesets when I pick my team rather than just "ooh, I know that pokemon, let's go with that". That said, hooray for pokeffectiveness. gg Slime, enjoy your nice shiny upper bracket.
