for a while there was a habit of calling any action-platformers "arcade" titles, but I think it's just like the blurry lines between "action", "action-adventure" and "adventure" titles (not to mention fantasy action games that get called RPGs, like Zelda)

if it was an arcade game it'd probably make you spend like 5 dollars to finish the game through continues that cost like 25 american cents a piece and that's that on that

for some reason the jazz jackrabbit 2 boxart calles jazz jackrabbit an arcade game and my brain refuses to accept that because it is not an arcade game it is a console platformer in spirit but on a personal computer environment
