also literally no trek has a good first season. they can have good episodes in their first season! but never a consistently good first season.

I prefer DS9's run for the most part. There are the worst duds even in their best seasons (4-6), but the general overall quality is there. Voyager's a slapdash effort in comparison from episode to episode due to the nature of the show. Timeless rules.

DS9 has like one of the best settings, worst plot arcs, and some of the best character interactions. There's both short scenes and whole episodes that are absolutely brilliant and then runs of episodes that make me feel emotionally beige

I grew up watching Voyager. Has some excellent episodes, has some absolute barrel-scraping trash. Widest variance on any Trek imo. Devolves into the Doctor and Seven show towards the end as they run out of episodic ideas.

i like some individual episodes of voyager but its got a palpable conservative streak compared to the other 90's treks

now i wanna watch deep space nine but. im lazy. do people not like voyager? my brother used to watch that one and it seemed fineish

that episode only works as a metaphor, funnily enough. there is no way in hell a language evolved to use metaphor as the only means of communication!
