Re: request grab-bag
Yeah the game is pretty fun so far. Although I'm having a lot of trouble finding a star in world 4, and I just have no idea what it is.

New trailer for Monster Boy came out BTW:SAJewers wrote:At worst, it'll use a different title, like the other upcoming Wonder Boy game, currently titled "Monster Boy And The Cursed Kingdom"
Apparently release date is January 2017, so I'll make sure to include it in the next patreon vote.

I'm a bit sad that AM2R got taken down so quickly.
It's too bad there's no possible way he could find it, now. I'm sure he'd love it.

Re: request grab-bag
since it's gonna be coming up sooner rather than later, what do you guys suggest as an N64 emulator ? Are they easy to use, record ?

Re: request grab-bag
It depends on the game because the N64 is not a very emulation-friendly console. Project64 was easy enough to use when I tried it at the very least, but yeah. This is something you might want to test out on your own unless there's been some breakthrough I didn't hear about in the last couple of years.raocow wrote:what do you guys suggest as an N64 emulator ? Re: request grab-bag
I've tried Project 64. It's okay, but I could never figure out how to get Paper Mario to work smoothly. Once Club Nintendo offered it, I was more than happy to oblige.

Re: request grab-bag
Both of which are probably outside the realm of "easy to record"
Re: request grab-bag
Maybe you could do some shenanigans with Dolphin?
Surely there's a way to patch Virtual Console ROMs.
Basically I'm suggesting an emulator within an emulator.

Re: request grab-bag
Shouldn't be that hard, though I haven't tried N64 emulation with RetroArch. Only issue would probably be if Dxtory doesn't support capturing Vulkan games.raekuul wrote:Both of which are probably outside the realm of "easy to record"

Hey there cowrao! Would you, by any chance, have any space in your B-day schedule for a possible Advent Thing-related project? It would probably end up being a 16- or 17-day LP assuming one level per video.
Delightful Adventure Enhanced is out now!
There's an official ASMT Discord server! Check it out to discuss Demo games and follow their development! thread, invite link
(Entry requires verification, either with a connected Youtube/Twitter/Twitch/etc account or manually by the server staff.)
Itch.io (albums and eventually games), Youtube (dofur pass and I guess other videos)

Mob Mario
Played this a few days ago. It's a pretty fun Japanese hack thing with pretty fun levels and such. It would be really cool to seen cowrao do this maybe one day. More people need to know about this hack.

Re: request grab-bag
If you're going to directly link an ips patch rather than a page with screenshots and a good description then you may want to give a good description and maybe some screenshots yourself. Just stating it's fun is really not very descriptive at all.Nin wrote:Mob Mario

Oh huh? I thought I posted screens? From what I've played, Mob Mario is kinda like a more polished and fun version of Vip5. The levels range from kinda short to long, and there are a few difficulty spikes throughout the game that don't really make sense. The game has a bit of a more Vanilla-y atmosphere, but still uses custom Tilesets and Sprites here and there (mostly on the OW). If I recall correctly, the game is only like 10-15 levels, so it'd be a good A-side filler thing between stuff.
Re: request grab-bag
Ah, you mean that game.
It's a good looking game (and has a nice soundtrack), but I just feel like the levels drag on way too much. Not all of them, but some areas (like the one with the waterfall in the background and the final level) just seem to never really end. It' also sometimes feels like it's not varied enough. Like they keep reusing the same few enemies a lot here (usually the most basic ones like Koopas).
Difficulty can shoot up a fair bit too, albeit mostly during the last level or two.
Wouldn't mind raocow playing it though.

Not a fan of the art, but it's apparently a really good game.

I can't stress enough how stoked I am for Blossom Tales. It's nice to see another game in this style being made (given that there are literally only like 2 others that I can think of).

Well, SM64 Last Impact is now out:

Although maybe that could be a bit too hard for raocow at the moment (no offence). He's only just seemingly got used to playing Mario 64 again.
