Some new spam prevention measures perhaps?

Not sure exactly what could be done, but how about adding some mods to phpbb to block spambots, then removing the new user registration forum?

For my own sites, I always use a system where they had to answer a question relevant to the forum topic, so maybe try that here? Something like:

Who's videos are we discussing here?

Answer: raocow's

And then if they get it wrong, block the registration?

Maybe also add a sort of spambot blacklist mod that reads from a third party database and blocks anyone who's details match. I do that with my other sites and I've not had spambots for weeks now. Basically, integrate it with stopforumspam like with this modification:

And you'll pretty much never see a spammer again.

Because the current guest forum solution is kind of poorly designed and looks rather unprofessional to say the least.
