>"Not a contest LP"
>Most of the levels are contest entries and the only non contest entry level has a gimmick from another contest entry.
So the final level is a Klonoa level, a 2.0 character that I never used, but it looks like it's just Mario with a small flutter jump.
This level's gimmick is taken from a MAGL 3 entry and aside from the tightness in some places seems okay.

The second gimmick just sucks.

It's a LunaLua thing which looks impressive(though it just flips vertically or horizontally the application's display), but the only thing it adds to the gameplay is frustration and you never know when it will happen.

So, does anyone know where you can download the next hack raocow is going to play?

I'm pretty sure it's Link since Klonoa's attack is nearly identical to Link's sword stab and the character has the heart health system instead of Mario's item box.

Today's Klonoa level could have used a safe room to exhibit the flip gimmick before the main level started.

Also, how does the flip trigger? Is it just some timer thing related to the music? Would pausing the screen throw the timing off?

I thought today's level looked fun and would have enjoyed playing it myself.

Yeah, despite popular opinion I think this is a neat postgame difficulty level, although it's hard to tell without actually playing the level.

I think Klonoa's hover was used pretty well, though maybe there could have been something that used picking up and throwing enemies too. Also nice to see 2.0 enemies/characters on a level since they are still fairly rare.

Wow... this was my first real exposure to SMBX 2.0.

Oh my gosh, I was blown away with the screen flipping.

This is the only thing that scares me if I run MAGL X3; the technology that is available now. With SMBX 2.0 opening the floodgates on what's possible, how do you judge this. Or set a rubric to score against?

I played around with this a long while ago, but you could theoretically make a full-on shoot 'em up with SMBX now. (in fact, here's Final fight from ASMBXT converted to work explicitly as a Horizontal shooter).

I haven't looked at SMBX in forever, but if you knew what you were doing, you could probably create a text adventure or Zelda1.

I guess I'll have to specify what 'genre' contest levels will have to be in: platformer. Kinda sad that it has to be said anyway, but must be done.

I am glad everyone likes this level. I expect raocow to upload the level by itself when he wants to, but it is his call. I would like to submit it to the post game of A2XT if allowed by everyone and raocow, but that would never happen... Tomorrow's level is intended only for raocow to have fun , and the only bonus room uses 2.0 elements. It also uses an API I made (and still working on) so yeah. I just forgot to delete the save file that the API makes... Anywho, thank you to Mata Hari, or whoever has the purple name I can not remember from the end of page 3...

raocow wrote:so yeah, that's my bad. But here's the thing - the door doesn't open so I didn't know what'up. And the only way I can record 1.3 is using another program that Premiere doesn't like, which means that editing would be difficult, so considering this is a md level I didn't know if the gamble was worth it. So instead on gambled on playing it with 2.0, which now I regret a little :(
What are your setting by the way? I use Premiere and Bandicam and it works just fine. Are you recording as MP4 by any chance? Because yeah, Premiere does not like that at all.

Looks like someone never played/seen Crash Bandicoot.

Amazing the TNT boxes could be replicated perfectly.

That's why it's on the (lower half of the) B-side list. If Crash Trilogy comes to PC, it'll be a pretty viable candidate for an LP!
